Controlinveste
Global Media Group (formerly Controlinveste) is a Portuguese media holding company founded by Portuguese sports mogul and FC Porto S.A.D.'s shareholder Joaquim Oliveira. History and profile Controlinveste was founded in 2005 after the amalgamation of Lusomundo Media and Olivedesportos. In 2013, Controlinveste was sold partly inter alia to Angolan investor António Mosquito Mbakassi (27.5%), representing a group of investors from Angola. The other parts were sold to Luís Montez (15%), Banco Comercial Português (15%) and Banco Espírito Santo (15%). Founder and owner Joaquim Oliveira keeps the remaining 27.5%. The deal included all of its print media and a radio station, which are ''Diário de Notícias'', '' Jornal de Notícias'', ''O Jogo'', ''Açoriano Oriental'' and TSF, focusing uniquely on its major asset, Sport TV. ''Diário de Notícias'' () is a Portuguese daily newspaper published in Lisbon, Portugal. Established since 1864, the paper is considered a newspaper of record for Portugal. History and profile ''Diário de Notícias'' was first published in Lisbon on 29 December 1864 by Tomás Quintino Antunes and Eduardo Coelho. At its early phase the paper had no explicit political stance and financially relied on the advertisements. Its headquarters is in Lisbon. During the 1880s the novelist Eça de Queiroz, then stationed in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England, in the Portuguese diplomatic service, contributed occasional "London letters" to the newspaper. ''Jornal de Notícias (JN)'' (; meaning ''News Journal'' in English) is a Portuguese daily national newspaper, one of the oldest in Portugal. History and profile ''JN'' was founded in Porto and was first published on 21 June 1888. It was one of two Portuguese newspapers published in Angola during the colonial rule. The other was ''Diário Popular''. ''JN'' has since become one of the most popular newspapers, especially after the Carnation Revolution. History and profile ''O Jogo'' was first published on 22 February 1985 by the Jornal de Notícias company in Porto, and it is seen as appealing mainly to supporters of FC Porto, being publicly criticized by Benfica, suppressing the gap of the two other national sports newspapers, ''A Bola'' and '' Record''.
