Contigo (political Party)
Contigo ( en, With You) was a right-wing political party in Peru. Led by former congressmen Gilbert Violeta, Salvador Heresi and Juan Sheput, ''Contigo'' participated of the 2020 parliamentary snap election and the 2021 general election, in both occasions earning a low share of votes in comparison to the success of its preceding organization, Peruvians for Change, which achieved the Peruvian presidency with Pedro Pablo Kuczynski at the 2016 general election. The party was officially dissolved following the 2021 general election for not passing the electoral threshold. Salvador Heresi
Saleh Carlos Salvador Heresi Chicoma (born February 16, 1966) is a Peruvian lawyer and politician. Throughout his political career, he served as mayor of San Miguel from 2003 to 2014, member of the Peruvian Congress from 2016 to 2020, and Minister of Justice and Human Rights at the start of Martín Vizcarra administration, in 2018. Heresi started his political career with the Christian People's Party in the San Miguel District, serving as councilman from 1990 to 1992, and eventually as mayor from 2003 to 2014. Heresi ended leaving the party to found Peruvians for Change in 2011. Following a failed bid for Mayor of Lima in 2014, placing fourth with 5.6% of the popular vote, Heresi was elected to the Peruvian Congress at the 2016 general election. The Congress of the Republic of Peru ( es, Congreso de la República) is the unicameral body that assumes legislative power in Peru. Congress' composition is established by Chapter I of Title IV of the Constitution of Peru. Mercedes Rosalba Aráoz Fernández (born 5 August 1961) is a Peruvian economist, professor, and politician who served as Second Vice President of Peru from 2016 to 2020. 2016 Peruvian General Election
General elections were held in Peru on 10 April 2016 to determine the president, vice-presidents, composition of the Congress of the Republic of Peru and the Peruvian representatives of the Andean Parliament. In the race for the presidency, incumbent President Ollanta Humala was ineligible for re-election due to constitutional term limits.
