Contagion (1987 Film)
''Contagion'' is a 1987 Australian horror film directed by Karl Zwicky and starring John Doyle, Nicola Bartlett and Ray Barrett.Scott Murray, ''Australia on the Small Screen 1970-1995'', Oxford Uni Press, 1996 p30 The film was shot around Brisbane in 35 days. Plot Mark, a naive real estate agent, is asked by his boss to travel to Crompton for a job. Along the road, Mark sees a beautiful woman being sexually abused by crazies that live in the bush, and he stops to aid her. However, the crazies attack and abuse him instead. He makes an escape and in the forest finds his way to a nearby mansion where he is given a welcome by millionaire Roderick Bael and Cleo and Helen, two seductive girls who live with him. They introduce Mark to their lives of luxury and pleasure. Mark sleeps with both the girls, and Bael explains Mark the secret of his success, the Threefold Plan, which involves being ruthless with anyone in his way. John Doyle (comedian)
John Patrick Doyle AM (born 9 March 1953) is an Australian actor, writer, radio presenter and comedian best known for his character Rampaging Roy Slaven. Early life Doyle was born in Lithgow, New South Wales in 1953 into a music-loving, Catholic household with three sisters, Deanna, Cathy, and Jen, and a brother, Tony. His mother was a business woman and his father a railway fettler. He was an altar boy for a time but lost interest in Catholicism with the introduction of contemporary changes in the Mass among other things. He attended and was a prefect at De La Salle Academy in Lithgow before graduating from the then Newcastle Teachers' College in 1973 with a Diploma of Teaching (Secondary English/History). He completed a Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Newcastle (NSW) in 1978 before joining the Hunter Valley Theatre Company. Raymond Charles Barrett (2 May 19278 September 2009) was an Australian actor. During the 1960s, he was a leading actor on British television, where he was best known for his appearances in ''The Troubleshooters'' (1965–1971). From the 1970s, he appeared in lead and character roles in Australian films and TV series. Early life Barrett was born in Brisbane, Queensland and was educated at Windsor State Primary School and at Brisbane State High School. Fascinated by radio from an early age, he won an on-air talent competition in 1939, at the age of 12: an eisteddfod that was broadcast on 4BH radio, with a musical monologue about a dog called "Paddy".
