Azad Kashmir Legislative Assembly
The Legislative Assembly of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, also known as AJK Legislative Assembly, is a unicameral legislature of elected representatives of the Pakistani administered state of Azad Kashmir, which is located in Muzaffarabad, the capital of the state. It was established under the Interim Constitution of AJK having a total of 53 seats, with 41 general seats, while 8 are reserved of which 5 are for women, 1 for Ulama, 1 for Technocrats and 1 for J&K nationals residing abroad. The assembly consist of 41 elected Members and 8 co-opted members of which 5 are woman, one member from Ulama community, while one is from amongst Jammu & Kashmir technocrats and other professionals, whereas one is from amongst Jammu and Kashmir nationals residing abroad. The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI; ur, , ) is a political party in Pakistan. It was founded in 1996 by Pakistani cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan, who served as the country's prime minister from 2018 to 2022. Sehnsa Tehsil
Sehnsa Tehsil is a large Tehsil in Pakistan Administered Azad Kashmir which lies on the west of Gulpur on the Kotli-Rawalpindi road. Sehnsa is a sub-divisional (Tehsil) headquarters of Kotli district in the center of Sehnsa valley. 2005 earthquake On October 8, 2005 this city also felt strong shocks but no damage occurred. On the same day the NGO (Khidmat Khalq Trust) went to the affected areas of AJK. it was the first NGO to reach the Bagh district to help the affected people. This NGO remained for almost six months and helped build homes. People of Sehnsa also participated in helping. Religion The majority of the population are Muslim. Azad Kashmir Election 2016
General elections were held in Azad Kashmir on 21 July 2016 to elect 41 members of the Azad Kashmir Legislative Assembly. Polling started at 8:00am and continued until 5:00pm. Campaign At least 423 candidates ran for the 41 seats, the main competition being between the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference (MC) and the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP). 5,427 polling stations were set up for the election Results 2,674,586 people were registered to vote in the elections, of whom 1,190,839 were female and 1,483,747 male. General elections were held in Azad Kashmir on 25 July 2021 after the expiry of the 5-year term of the previous Legislative Assembly. The 2021 General Elections of Azad Jammu and Kashmir held on 25 July, the region's election commission announced on Thursday. The elections were held in 33 constituencies of Azad Kashmir and 12 constituencies of the refugees of Jammu and Kashmir.
