Consolation (song)
"Consolation" is a song written by Swedish keyboardist Benny Andersson, first recorded as the Hep Stars thirteenth single in October 1966. The single largely left the baroque pop style sound which had dominated both their previous singles "Sunny Girl" and "Wedding", but continues the soft rock style of " I Natt Jag Drömde" and also ventures into the territory of psychedelic rock, a genre that would become prevalent the following year. The single continued the Hep Stars chart success in Sweden, reaching number 2 on ''Tio i Topp.'' On Kvällstoppen, the song peaked at number 1 for ten unconsecutive weeks, and as a result became the Hep Stars biggest hit on that chart. Andersson would later state dismay with the single. It was included on their second studio album ''The Hep Stars''. Vertical Horizon is an American alternative rock band, formed in Washington, D.C. Vocalists and guitarists Matt Scannell and Keith Kane started the band in 1991 when they were students at Georgetown University. The band have undergone multiple line-up changes since their formation, with Scannell overseeing every iteration as the band's leader. Ola & The Janglers
Ola & the Janglers were a garage rock and beat group, founded in Stockholm, Sweden in 1962. Its lead member was Ola Håkansson. Guitarist Claes "Clabbe" af Geijerstam wrote many of their hits. He was later a member of the duo Nova (Swedish name "Malta") with Göran Fristorp. The duo won the Swedish part of the Eurovision in 1973. (ABBA was number 3 with " Ring Ring". Sven Ove Hedlund (1 March 1945 – 3 December 2022) was a Swedish pop singer who was a member of the music group Idolerna. Hedlund sang in the Swedish bands Clifftones and Hep Stars in the 1960s. The Vox Continental is a transistorised combo organ that was manufactured between 1962 and 1971 by the British musical equipment manufacturer Vox.
