Conor Sweeney
Conor Sweeney (born 29 March 1990) is a Gaelic football player who plays at inter-county level for Tipperary, and plays his club football for Ballyporeen in South Tipperary. He also plays club hurling for Skeheenarinky. Career Sweeney played minor football for Tipperary in 2007 and 2008, and under-21 football from 2009 to 2011, winning the Munster Under-21 Football Championship in 2010. He made his senior debut for Tipperary in 2010 in the McGrath Cup against UL and his league debut in 2010 against Laois. He made his championship debut in 2010 also against Laois. On 31 July 2016, Sweeney scored 2-2 as Tipperary defeated Galway in the 2016 All-Ireland Quarter-finals at Croke Park to reach their first All-Ireland semi-final since 1935. On 21 August 2016, Tipperary were beaten in the semi-final by Mayo on a 2-13 to 0-14 scoreline. Sweeney ended the 2016 Championship with a scoring total of 3-9. Ballyporeen GAA
Ballyporeen GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in the parish of Ballyporeen in County Tipperary in Ireland. The club plays Gaelic football at Senior level as part of the South division of Tipperary GAA. The handball section of the club has also had considerable success. The club fields Minor, Under-21 and Senior football teams. At juvenile level the Ballyporeen club also takes in footballers from, and provides hurlers for, the hurling club in the neighbouring townland of Skeheenarinky, part of the same parish. History The club was founded in 1887, just three years after the formation of the GAA. Historically the club has played under various names including Templetenny Rangers, Western Rangers and the Brian Borus, a team made up of members from Ballyporeen and Clogheen. GAA GPA All Stars Awards
The Gaelic Athletic Association-Gaelic Players' Association All Stars Awards (often known simply as the All Stars) are awarded annually to the best player in each of the 15 playing positions in Gaelic football and hurling. Additionally, one player in each code is selected as Player of the Year. The awards were instituted in 1971. Since 2011 they have been presented jointly by the Gaelic Athletic Association and the representative body for inter-county players, the Gaelic Players Association. Each player who receives a nomination is given a medallion marking the milestone. It is considered "the most coveted sporting award scheme in the country". The 2020 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship was the 133rd edition of the Gaelic Athletic Association's premier inter-county Gaelic football tournament since its establishment in 1887. The public health measures introduced to combat the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in the competition being delayed.
