Conor McCormack (footballer)
Conor McCormack (born 18 May 1990) is a professional footballer currently playing in the League of Ireland First Division with Galway United. Club career He started his career with Manchester United, joining on a youth contract when he was 16 years old. After spending two years at the club and becoming disillusioned with the lack of first-team opportunities, McCormack turned down the offer of an extension to his contract. He moved to Italy and joined Serie B side U.S. Triestina Calcio. McCormack did not make a first-team start during his two and a half years there. After a proposed loan deal to a Lega Pro side fell through at the last minute in May 2010, McCormack made his intentions to leave clear. He returned to Ireland to sign for League of Ireland champions Shamrock Rovers at the beginning of the 2011 season, playing a role in their journey to the Europa League group stages. Carlingford, County Louth
Carlingford (; ga, Cairlinn) is a coastal town and civil parish in northern County Louth, Ireland. For the purposes of local government, the town is part of the Dundalk Municipal District. It is situated on the southern shore of Carlingford Lough with Slieve Foy mountain as a backdrop, sometimes known as Carlingford Mountain. It is the main town on the Cooley Peninsula. Located on the R176/ R173 roads between Greenore and Omeath village, Carlingford is approximately 27 km north east (by road) from Dundalk (15.6 km directly), 90 km north of Dublin and 11 km south of the border with Northern Ireland. Shamrock Rovers Football Club ( ga, Cumann Peile Ruagairí na Seamróige) is an Irish association football club based in Tallaght, South Dublin. The club's senior team competes in the League of Ireland Premier Division and it is the most successful club in the Republic of Ireland. The 2017 President's Cup was the fourth President's Cup contested for. The match was played between 2016 League of Ireland Premier Division champions Dundalk and 2016 FAI Cup winners Cork City on 17 February 2017, at Turners Cross. Cork City won the game 3-0, with goals from Seán Maguire, Kevin O'Connor and Karl Sheppard, making Cork City the first team to retain the trophy. The 2017 FAI Senior Challenge Cup was the 97th season of the knockout national Football competition of the Republic of Ireland. The winners of this season's cup earned a place in the 2018–19 Europa League and would have entered in the first qualifying round. Dundalk ( ; ga, Dún Dealgan ), meaning "the fort of Dealgan", is the county town (the administrative centre) of County Louth, Ireland.
