Connor Wong
Connor Sun-Han Wong (born May 19, 1996) is an American professional baseball catcher and infielder for the Boston Red Sox of Major League Baseball (MLB). Listed at and , he bats and throws right-handed. He made his MLB debut in June 2021, prior to which he played every position except pitcher in the minor leagues. Amateur career Wong attended Pearland High School in Pearland, Texas, where he played baseball. In his senior year of 2014, he earned all-state honors as a shortstop. After not being selected in the 2014 MLB draft, he enrolled at the University of Houston where he played college baseball for the Cougars. In 2015, Wong's freshman season at Houston, he started 62 of Houston's 63 games at shortstop, hitting .248 with six home runs and 37 runs batted in (RBIs). Catcher
Catcher is a Baseball positions, position in baseball and softball. When a Batter (baseball), batter takes their at bat, turn to hit, the catcher crouches behind home plate, in front of the (home plate, home) Umpire (baseball), umpire, and receives the ball from the pitcher. College Baseball
College baseball is baseball that is played on the intercollegiate level at institutions of higher education. In comparison to football and basketball, college competition in the United States plays a smaller role in developing professional players, as baseball's professional minor leagues are more extensive, with a greater history of supplying players to MLB. Moving directly from high school to the professional level is more common in baseball than in football or basketball. However, if players do opt to enroll at a four-year college to play baseball, they must complete three years to regain professional eligibility, unless they reach age 21 before starting their third year of college. Players who enroll at junior colleges (i.e., two-year institutions) regain eligibility after one year at that level. In baseball, a stolen base occurs when a runner advances to a base to which they are not entitled and the official scorer rules that the advance should be credited to the action of the runner. Bourne Braves
The Bourne Braves are a collegiate summer baseball team based in Bourne, Massachusetts. The team is a member of the Cape Cod Baseball League (CCBL) and plays in the league's West Division. The Braves play their home games at Doran Park on the campus of Upper Cape Cod Regional Technical School in Bourne. The Braves are owned and operated by the non-profit Bourne Athletic Association. The Yarmouth–Dennis Red Sox, or Y-D Red Sox, are a collegiate summer baseball team based in South Yarmouth, Massachusetts. The team is a member of the Cape Cod Baseball League (CCBL) and plays in the league's East Division. The Red Sox play their home games at Red Wilson Field on the campus of Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School.
