Connor McGough
Connor Adam McGough (born August 14, 1995) is a former professional Canadian football defensive lineman who played for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Calgary Stampeders in the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played U Sports football at the University of Calgary. McGough was selected fourth overall in the 2017 CFL Draft. University career McGough played U Sports football for the Calgary Dinos from 2013 to 2016. He was named a CIS Second Team All-Canadian in 2014 and was a member of Hardy Cup championship teams in 2013 and 2016. Professional career Hamilton Tiger-Cats McGough was drafted by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the first round, fourth overall, in the 2017 CFL Draft and signed with the team on May 24, 2017. He played in 51 games over three years with the Tiger-Cats where he recorded 14 defensive tackles, 33 special teams tackles, one sack, and two forced fumbles. In gridiron football, a lineman is a player who specializes in play at the line of scrimmage. The linemen of the team currently in possession of the ball are the offensive line, while linemen on the opposing team are the defensive line. Hardy Trophy
The Hardy Trophy is a Canadian sport trophy, presented annually to the winner of the Canada West Universities Athletic Association Football Conference of U Sports, the country's governing body for university athletics. It is named for Evan Hardy, the former head of the agricultural engineering department at the University of Saskatchewan, who had played for the Huskies for its first five years before a rule that only students could play. Hardy continued on as coach and created a western university league. The original trophy was replaced in 1997 after it fell apart during an on-field celebration of the Huskies win in 1996 at home at Griffiths Stadium. The original Hardy trophy was unearthed beneath a pile of storage boxes in 2008 at the University of Saskatchewan. Myocarditis
Myocarditis, also known as inflammatory cardiomyopathy, is an acquired cardiomyopathy due to inflammation of the heart muscle. Symptoms can include shortness of breath, chest pain, decreased ability to exercise, and an irregular heartbeat. The duration of problems can vary from hours to months. Complications may include heart failure due to dilated cardiomyopathy or cardiac arrest. Myocarditis is most often due to a viral infection. Other causes include bacterial infections, certain medications, toxins and autoimmune disorders. A diagnosis may be supported by an electrocardiogram (ECG), increased troponin, heart MRI, and occasionally a heart biopsy. An ultrasound of the heart is important to rule out other potential causes such as heart valve problems. Treatment depends on both the severity and the cause. The 2021 CFL season was the 67th season of modern-day Canadian football. Officially, it was the 63rd season of the Canadian Football League. The regular season began on August 5, 2021, and ended November 20, 2021. Each team played 14 regular season games over 16 weeks. The 2020 CFL season would have been the 67th season of modern-day Canadian football. Officially, it would have been the 63rd season of the Canadian Football League.
