Connection (algebraic Framework)
Geometry of Quantum mechanics, quantum systems (e.g., noncommutative geometry and supergeometry) is mainly phrased in algebraic terms of module (mathematics), modules and algebras. Connections on modules are generalization of a linear connection (vector bundle), connection on a smooth vector bundle E\to X written as a Koszul connection on the C^\infty(X)-module of sections of E\to X. Commutative algebra Let A be a commutative ring (mathematics), ring and M an ''A''-module (mathematics), module. There are different equivalent definitions of a connection on M. First definition If k \to A is a ring homomorphism, a k-linear connection is a k-linear morphism : \nabla: M \to \Omega^1_ \otimes_A M which satisfies the identity : \nabla(am) = da \otimes m + a \nabla m A connection extends, for all p \geq 0 to a unique map : \nabla: \Omega^p_ \otimes_A M \to \Omega^_ \otimes_A M satisfying \nabla(\omega \otimes f) = d\omega \otimes f + (-1)^p \omega \wedge \nabla f. Connectedness
In mathematics, connectedness is used to refer to various properties meaning, in some sense, "all one piece". When a mathematical object has such a property, we say it is connected; otherwise it is disconnected. When a disconnected object can be split naturally into connected pieces, each piece is usually called a ''component'' (or ''connected component''). Connectedness in topology A topological space is said to be ''connected space, connected'' if it is not the union of two disjoint sets, disjoint nonempty open sets. A Set (mathematics), set is open if it contains no point lying on its boundary (topology), boundary; thus, in an informal, intuitive sense, the fact that a space can be partitioned into disjoint open sets suggests that the boundary between the two sets is not part of the space, and thus splits it into two separate pieces. Other notions of connectedness Fields of mathematics are typically concerned with special kinds of objects. Often such an object is said to be ...

Connected Sum
In mathematics, specifically in topology, the operation of connected sum is a geometric modification on manifolds. Its effect is to join two given manifolds together near a chosen point on each. This construction plays a key role in the classification of closed surfaces. More generally, one can also join manifolds together along identical submanifolds; this generalization is often called the fiber sum. There is also a closely related notion of a connected sum on knots, called the knot sum or composition of knots. Connected sum at a point A connected sum of two ''m''-dimensional manifolds is a manifold formed by deleting a ball inside each manifold and gluing together the resulting boundary spheres. If both manifolds are oriented, there is a unique connected sum defined by having the gluing map reverse orientation. Although the construction uses the choice of the balls, the result is unique up to homeomorphism. One can also make this operation work in the smooth categor ...

Layover

In public transit, this typically takes a few minutes at a trip terminal. For air travel, where layovers are longer, passengers will exit the vehicle and wait in the terminal, often to board another vehicle traveling elsewhere. A stopover is a longer form of layover, allowing time to leave the transport system for sightseeing or overnight accommodation. History Historically, a way station was a facility for resting or changing a team of horses drawing a stagecoach. Typically a simple meal was available to passengers, who were also able to use Public toilet, restrooms. Basic overnight accommodations were sometimes available in remote instances. Mass transit A layover for mass transit ...

Connection (dance)
In partner dancing, connection is physical, non-verbal communication between dancers to facilitate synchronized or coordinated dance movements. Some forms of connection involve "lead/follow" in which one dancer (the "lead") directs the movements of the other dancer (the "follower") by means of non-verbal directions conveyed through a physical connection between the dancers. In other forms, connection involves multiple dancers (more than two) without a distinct leader or follower (e.g. contact improvisation). Connection refers to a host of different techniques in many types of partner dancing, especially (but not exclusively) those that feature significant physical contact between the dancers, including the Argentine Tango, Lindy Hop, Balboa, East Coast Swing, West Coast Swing, Salsa, and other ballroom dances. Other forms of communication, such as visual cues or spoken cues, sometimes aid in connecting with one's partner, but are often used in specific circumstances (e.g., pr ...

10 Tracks To Echo In The Dark
''10 Tracks to Echo in the Dark'' is the sixth studio album by British rock band The Kooks. The follow-up to the 2018 album '' Let's Go Sunshine'', it was produced by Tobias Kuhn and the band's lead singer Luke Pritchard, and released on 22 July 2022 through the band's independent label Lonely Cat with distribution by AWAL. It is the first album recorded by the band as a trio following the departure of bassist Pete Denton in late 2018. Background Following the Brexit referendum, Luke Pritchard wanted to maintain The Kooks' European connection by going to Berlin to work with writer and producer Tobias Kuhn. After coming up with five tracks, the COVID-19 pandemic brought work to a halt in March 2020, which meant Pritchard had to return to the U.K. and continue the writing sessions with Kuhn via Zoom. Afterwards, Kuhn traveled to London to record with the band. Release With a desire to do new things, The Kooks chose to release the songs from ''10 Tracks to Echo in the Dark'' as a s ...

Unlimited Edition (album)
''Unlimited Edition'' is a compilation album by the krautrock band Can, released by Harvest Records in 1976 as a double album. Beforehand, United Artists Records released ''Limited Edition'' LP in 1974, which was a limited release of 15,000 copies. ''Unlimited Edition'' is a re-release of ''Limited Edition'', adding tracks 14–19 tracks. The compilations collect unreleased music across the band's history from 1968 to 1975, and feature both of the band's major singers (Damo Suzuki and Malcolm Mooney). The cover photos were taken among the Elgin Marbles in the Duveen Gallery of the British Museum. Background The compilation albums were "an interim measure" for Can's record company requiring some commercial activity, before the band could release a studio album. United Artists Records licensed the ''Limited Edition'' compilation and expanded it to a double LP with a further six unreleased tracks, under the title ''Unlimited Edition''. ''Limited Edition'' was curated by Duncan ...

Connection (Rolling Stones Song)
"Connection" is a song by the English rock band the Rolling Stones, featured on their 1967 album ''Between the Buttons''. It was written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards (but mostly Richards), features vocals by both and is said to be about the long hours the band spent in airports. The lyrics contain much rhyming based on the word ''connection''. The lyrics also reflect the pressures the band was under by 1967: The song was written before Jagger, Richards and fellow Rolling Stone Brian Jones were arrested by the police for drugs. Although never released as a single, it has been a popular live song. The song itself is built on a very simple chord progression, a repetitive drum pattern, Chuck Berry-like lead guitar from Richards, the piano of Jack Nitzsche, tambourine and organ pedals by multi-instrumentalist Jones, and bass by Wyman. Jagger, Jones and Wyman later overdubbed handclaps. Jagger said in 1967, "That's me beating my hands on the bass drum." Personnel According to a ...
