The Connecticut Yankee Council of the Boy Scouts of America is located in Milford, Connecticut. It is council #072 and serves 37 towns and cities in Connecticut, located in Fairfield County, New Haven County, and parts of Hartford County. Connecticut Yankee Nuclear Power Plant
Connecticut Yankee Nuclear Power Plant (CY) was a nuclear power plant located in Haddam Neck, Connecticut. The power plant is on the Connecticut River near the Haddam Neck swing bridge. The plant was commissioned in 1968, ceased electricity production in 1996, and was decommissioned by 2004. The reason for the closure was because operation of the nuclear power station was no longer cost effective. The plant had a capacity of 582MW. Demolition of the containment dome was completed the week of July 17, 2006. Connecticut Yankee (train)
The ''Connecticut Yankee'' was a long-distance train in western New England, that in its first two decades was an international sleeping car, night train, established in 1936, that extended from New York City into southeastern Quebec, to Sherbrooke and Quebec City, a trip. The pooled train covered railroad territories of the New York, New Haven and Hartford, Boston and Maine, Canadian Pacific Railway and the Quebec Central Railway. It was the last U.S.-Canadian train serving the Sherbrooke to eastern Vermont route. The train had some sharing of sleeping cars with the ''Boston & Maines overnight ''Red Wing'' (the night train counterpart to the ''Alouette (train), Alouette'') which went from Boston to Montreal. Connecticut Yankees (soccer)
The Connecticut Yankees were a soccer team based in Hartford, Connecticut and played their home matches at Dillon Stadium. They played in the American Soccer League for seven seasons, from 1972 to 1978, when they folded. The team was established in 1972 as the Northeast United. They changed their name to the Connecticut Wildcats in 1973, and adopted the name Connecticut Yankees after the 1974 season. During their run they advanced to the playoffs once, in 1977, and were knocked out in the first round. The Fairfield Yankees Rugby Football Club is a Division II and IV Men's and Division II Women's Rugby Club based in Fairfield, Connecticut.
