The Conneaut School District is a public school district in Crawford County, Pennsylvania and geographically encompasses approximately the western third of the county. The school district is approximately 8 miles west of Meadville, south of Erie and north of Pittsburgh. Comprising a total area of approximately , the school district is bordered on the south by Mercer County, on the west by the state of Ohio, on the north by Erie County and on the east by the city of Meadville. Linesville is a borough (Pennsylvania), borough in Crawford County, Pennsylvania, Crawford County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 964 at the 2020 census, down from 987 at the 2019 census. North Shenango Township is a township in Crawford County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 1,274 at the 2020 census, down from 1,410 at the 2010 census. Geography The township is located in western Crawford County, bordered to the west by Ashtabula County in Ohio. District 10 of the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) is an interscholastic athletic association in Northwest Pennsylvania. Conneaut Area Senior High School, known locally as "CASH", is a public high school which is located within the borough of Linesville, Pennsylvania, USA. Conneaut Lake
Conneaut Lake is the largest natural lake in Pennsylvania by surface area. It is located in western Crawford County near a town with the same name. Its has a surface area of approximately 925 acres. The site of the lake is actually in adjacent Sadsbury Township and nearby Summit Township. During the summer season, it is heavily populated with people vacationing to the lake area, some from the area spending time in their houses on the lake, and many others from the surrounding area that like to spend the summer away from home, many of these people being residents of the Pittsburgh area. Other than the lake itself, the largest draw to the area has long been a popular resort known as Conneaut Lake Park, long known for its amusement park. Pymatuning Lake
Pymatuning Reservoir is a man-made lake in Crawford County, Pennsylvania and Ashtabula County, Ohio in the United States, on land that was once a very large swamp. Much of it is incorporated into two state parks: Pymatuning State Park in Pennsylvania, and Pymatuning State Park in Ohio. History The first known inhabitants were the Mound builders. Two of their mounds were flooded by the creation of Pymatuning Lake. The Lenape were living in the area when European settlers first came there. The lake is named for the chief who lived in the area at the time, Pihmtomink. The Lenape were pushed out of the area by the Seneca tribe, a member of the Iroquois Confederacy. The Seneca were defeated by General Anthony Wayne's forces during the Northwest Indian War and left the area under the terms of the Treaty of Greenville. Summerhill, Pennsylvania
Summerhill is a borough in Cambria County, Pennsylvania, Cambria County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 490 at the 2010 census. History Summerhill, a small borough in the Allegheny Mountains in southwestern Pennsylvania, was settled in the early 1800s and grew in large part from the Allegheny Portage Railroad and the Pennsylvania Railroad. The Thomas and Barbara Croyle family was one of the earliest recorded families to settle in the town in 1794. Their family homestead, a two-story stone structure that still stands, served the family as a fortress against Indian attacks. According to some sources, Indians burned the Croyles' cabin and property, causing the family to seek refuge at Fort Bedford.
