''Confessions of a Romance Novelist'' is the debut album from The Anchoress aka Catherine Anne Davies. Released on 15 January 2016, the album received a favourable critique from ''The Guardian''. The Anchoress (musician)
The Anchoress is the stage name of Welsh-born multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and author Catherine Anne Davies. Davies was born in Glynneath, Wales but at 10 weeks old was taken to Australia with her parents before returning to the UK at the age of four, where she grew up in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, England. Biography Davies formed The Anchoress in 2013. The Anchoress's debut album '' Confessions of a Romance Novelist'', co-produced by Paul Draper, was released on 15 January 2016 via Kscope. Indie rock is a Music subgenre, subgenre of rock music that originated in the United States, United Kingdom and New Zealand from the 1970s to the 1980s. ''The Observer'' is a British newspaper published on Sundays. Paul Edward Draper (born 26 September 1970 in Liverpool) is an English singer-songwriter, musician and record producer, formerly the frontman of the rock band Mansun. Biography Early days Paul Draper grew up on Garmoyle Road in Wavertree, Liverpool before moving with his family to Connah's Quay, Deeside. Draper described the area as being "the absolute nothing of Great Britain", adding "Deeside is just the bit where the Welsh people really aren't Welsh because they were infiltrated by the English in the Fifties and Sixties.
