Coney Island, County Down
Coney Island is a small seaside hamlet and townland of 48 acres (19 hectares) in County Down, Northern Ireland, between the villages of Ardglass and Killough. It is situated in the civil parish of Ardglass and the historic barony of Lecale Lower. There is a small caravan park at Coney Island. It is not actually an island but includes a narrow peninsula which may at one time have been cut off by the sea. The name of the townland is recorded as ''Conningsiland'' in 1635, as ''Cony Is'' in 1640 and as ''Conny-Island'' in 1669. ''Coney'' or ''Cony'' is a medieval English word meaning rabbit. County Down
County Down () is one of the six counties of Northern Ireland, one of the nine counties of Ulster and one of the traditional thirty-two counties of Ireland. It covers an area of and has a population of 531,665. It borders County Antrim to the north, the Irish Sea to the east, County Armagh to the west, and County Louth across Carlingford Lough to the southwest. In the east of the county is Strangford Lough and the Ards Peninsula. The largest town is Bangor, on the northeast coast. The Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film is an award presented at the annual Academy Awards ceremony. The award has existed, under various names, since 1957. From 1936 until 1956 there were two separate awards, "Best Short Subject, One-reel" and "Best Short Subject, Two-reel", referring to the running time of the short: a standard Reel#Motion picture terminology, reel of film is 1000 feet, or about 11 minutes of run time. Terry George
Terence George (born 20 December 1952) is an Irish screenwriter and director. Much of his film work (e.g. ''The Boxer'', ''Some Mother's Son'', and ''In the Name of the Father'') involves "The Troubles" in Northern Ireland. ''Avalon Sunset'' is the nineteenth studio album by Northern Irish singer-songwriter Van Morrison. It was released in 1989 by Mercury Records to both commercial and critical success. In 2008, ''Avalon Sunset'' was reissued and remastered, featuring an alternate take of " Whenever God Shines His Light", and a version of "When the Saints Go Marching In" with additional lyrics by Morrison. Recording This album was recorded in England at Woodhall Studio, Eden Studios, Olympic Studios, Westside Studio, and Townhouse Studios. It marked the first appearance of Georgie Fame with Morrison. Sir George Ivan Morrison (born 31 August 1945), known professionally as Van Morrison, is a Northern Irish singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist whose recording career spans seven decades. He has won two Grammy Awards. As a teenager in the late 1950s, he played a variety of instruments such as guitar, harmonica, keyboards and saxophone for several Irish showbands, covering the popular hits of that time. Lecale Lower (named after the former barony of Lecale) is a Barony (Ireland), barony in County Down, Northern Ireland. It lies to the east of the county with Strangford Lough to its north and the Irish Sea to its right. It is bordered by five other baronies: Lecale Upper to the south; Ards Upper to the north-east just across the mouth of Strangford Lough; Dufferin (barony), Dufferin to the north; Castlereagh Upper to the north-west; and Kinelarty to the west.
