Conduit (Funeral For A Friend Album)
''Conduit'' is the sixth studio album by Welsh post-hardcore band Funeral for a Friend. It was released on 28 January 2013 in the UK and 5 February 2013 in the United States. This is the band's first release with former Rise to Remain drummer Pat Lundy, who replaced long-term drummer and vocalist Ryan Richards during the album's production. Throughout the recording of the album the band released several teaser videos that showed the recording of individual instruments. Style ''Conduit'' is described as being more consistently heavy than their previous releases, as they have all varied in style. ''Conduit'' is seen as the band returning to their musical roots, this is reflected in how it is some of the band's heaviest material and that raw music featured on the album captures the energy of a younger band. Funeral for a Friend are a Welsh post-hardcore band from Bridgend, formed in 2001 and currently consists of Matthew Davies-Kreye (lead vocals), Kris Coombs-Roberts (guitar, backing vocals), Gavin Burrough (guitar, backing vocals), Darran Smith (guitar), Richard Boucher (bass), and Ryan Richards (drums, vocals). Funeral for a Friend's popularity rose in the United Kingdom with the release of their debut album, ''Casually Dressed & Deep in Conversation'' (2003). Achieving both a gold certification and three top-twenty singles in their home country, ''Casually Dressed & Deep in Conversation'' is often acclaimed as one of the landmark emo records of the 2000s. Lick (music)
In popular music genres such as country, blues, jazz or rock music, a lick is "a stock pattern or phrase" consisting of a short series of notes used in solos and melodic lines and accompaniment. For musicians, learning a lick is usually a form of imitation. By imitating, musicians understand and analyze what others have done, allowing them to build a vocabulary of their own. In a jazz band, a lick may be performed during an improvised solo, either during an accompanied solo chorus or during an unaccompanied solo break. Jazz licks are usually original short phrases which can be altered so they can be used over a song's changing harmonic progressions. Major League was an American rock band from Mantua Township, New Jersey. They were signed to No Sleep Records. History Major League began in 2009. In July 2012, the group performed a few shows in Canada in July with The Swellers. They signed to No Sleep Records in September. They supported Man Overboard on their four date east coast tour in 2012. They partook in a co-headlining tour with Turnover and Maker in late 2012. In Spring of 2013, Major League supported Senses Fail on their headlining spring tour. In early 2014, Major League embarked on a headlining tour with support from Have Mercy, Seaway, and Better Off. Such Gold is an American punk rock band from Rochester, New York, United States, currently consisting of Ben Kotin on guitar and vocals, Nate Derby on guitar, Jon Markson on bass and vocals and Matt Covey on drums. History Such Gold formed officially in 2009, and self-released ''Demo 2009'' in the Spring of that year. Typography is the art and technique of arranging type to make written language legible, readable and appealing when displayed. ''Front'' was a British men's magazine. First published by Cabal Communications in 1998, it was created to rival IPC's publication '' Loaded'', catering to a demographic of 16- to 25-year-old males. It began as part of the British " lads' mag" genre of magazines, though the covers rejected this description with the statement "Front is no lads' mag". Whilst a major selling point was the photo-shoots of models, the magazine also focused heavily on music, films, gadgets and games, plus sections on fashion and sport. A controlled-access highway is a type of highway that has been designed for high-speed vehicular traffic, with all traffic flow—ingress and egress—regulated.
