''Concrete Law'' is the debut solo studio album by American rapper and the Dungeon Family member Backbone. It was released on June 19, 2001 via Universal Records. Sleepy Brown
Patrick Leroy "Sleepy" Brown (born January 24, 1970) is an American singer-songwriter and record producer from Savannah, Georgia. He is one-third of the successful Atlanta-based production team of Organized Noize, which has created hits for acts such as Outkast, Goodie Mob and TLC. TLC's "Waterfalls", penned by Brown and Organized Noize's Rico Wade and Ray Murray, was a #1 hit single on ''Billboard's'' Hot 100 in the summer of 1995. Career Patrick Brown was born in Savannah, Georgia on January 24, 1970. A dungeon is a room or cell in which prisoners are held, especially underground. Dungeons are generally associated with medieval castles, though their association with torture probably belongs more to the Renaissance period. An oubliette (from french ''oublier'' meaning to ''forget'') or bottle dungeon is a basement room which is accessible only from a hatch or hole (an ''angstloch'') in a high ceiling. Victims in oubliettes were often left to starve and dehydrate to death, making the practice akin to—and some say an actual variety of—immurement. Lumberjacks (group)
Lumberjacks is the hip hop duo between T-Mo and Khujo of the Atlanta rapping pioneers Goodie Mob. The Lumberjacks were put together before the entire Goodie Mob group. Khujo and T-Mo formed a duo in high school before joining Cee-Lo and Big Gipp later to form the aforementioned supergroup. They never released an album under the "Lumberjacks" moniker though until 2005 with ''Livin' Life as Lumberjacks'', which failed to chart. They released this album after the three-member album One Monkey Don't Stop No Show which was after Cee-Lo left to pursue a solo career. Big Gipp
Cameron Gipp (born April 28, 1973), better known by his stage name Big Gipp, is an American rapper from Atlanta. He is best known for his work as a founding member of Goodie Mob, which he has gone on to release six studio albums. Aside from Goodie Mob, Gipp's solo album Mutant Mindframe was released in 2003. He is also closely associated with Nelly and particularly Ali of the St. Lunatics, which the latter and Gipp he formed the duo Ali & Gipp. Background Big Gipp, who is a Southern rapper, hails from the hotbed of the genre, Atlanta. He is known for his slow, drawn-out rapping dialect with political and street-life themed lyrics. A lead single (also known as a debut single) is the first single to be released from a studio album by an artist or a band, usually before the album itself is released and also occasionally on the same day of the album's release date. Release strategies Artists often choose songs that are more up-tempo, yet representative of the album's sound, as lead singles. Such songs are often catchier and attract the attention of listeners. The subsequent single might then be slower in tempo, in order to demonstrate the range of the album. Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums is a music chart published weekly by '' Billboard'' magazine that ranks R&B and hip hop albums based on sales in the United States and is compiled by Nielsen SoundScan. The chart debuted as Hot R&B LPs in the issue dated January 30, 1965 in an effort by the magazine to further expand into the field of rhythm and blues music. Goodie Mob is an American hip hop group based in Atlanta, Georgia, consisting of CeeLo Green, Khujo, T-Mo, and Big Gipp. History The group was formed in 1991 by Cameron " Big Gipp" Gipp, Willie "Khujo" Knighton Jr., CeeLo Green (born Thomas Callaway), and Robert "T-Mo" Barnett in Atlanta, Georgia.
