Comunes () was a Chilean left-wing political party, founded in 2019 by the merger between the Citizen Power party and the Autonomous Left (''Izquierda Autónoma)'' movement. Broad Front (Chilean Political Party)
The Broad Front ( es, Frente Amplio, FA) is a Chilean left-wing political party and founded in 2024 as a result of the merger of the former coalition of the same name. Platform and ideology The Broad Front was formed as a result of the merger of left-wing political parties that aimed to change the political situation of Chile in favor of participative democracy and feminism. Some reports consider their ideology close to populism due to the fact that the coalition was built off of existing popular movements (such as the 2011 student movement movement). Although it has the same name as the center-left coalition from Uruguay, political analysts tend to see the Broad Front as more similar to the Spanish left-wing populist party Podemos. 2017 presidential primary candidate Alberto Mayol highlighted the fact that a clear "leftist tradition" exists in most of the coalition members. Emilia Schneider Videla (born 23 October 1996) is a Chilean feminist, activist, and politician. In the 2021 Chilean general election, she was elected to the Chamber of Deputies of Chile with the left-wing Commons party. She is the first openly transgender person to be elected to the Chamber of Deputies. General elections were held in Chile on 21 November 2021, including presidential, parliamentary and regional elections. Gabriel Boric
Gabriel Boric Font (; born 11 February 1986) is a Chilean left-wing politician who is the 37th and current president of Chile, serving since 11 March 2022. Boric studied in the Faculty of Law at the University of Chile, and was the president of the University of Chile Student Federation from 2011 to 2012. As a student representative, he became one of the leading figures of the 2011–2013 Chilean student protests. Boric was twice elected to the Chamber of Deputies representing the Magallanes and Antarctic district, first as an independent candidate in 2013 and then in 2017 as part of the Broad Front, a left-wing coalition he created with several other parties.
