Companions In Crime
''Companions in Crime'' (A.K.A. ''Stryker Strikes Twice'') is a 1954 British crime film directed by John Krish and starring Clifford Evans, George Woodbridge and Kenneth Haigh. The film is a spin-off from the television series '' Stryker of the Yard'', and features two cases transmitted as separate TV episodes: ''The Case of the Two Brothers'' and ''The Case of the Black Falcon''. Plot Two cases for "Inspector Stryker". In the first case, the detective utilises the aid of young Martha to clear her fiancé, John Kendall, who has been falsely convicted of murder. In the second, Stryker is tipped off that a yachtsman is a jewel smuggler. John Krish
John Jeffrey Krish (4 December 1923 – 7 May 2016) was a British film director and screenwriter. He directed and filmed much archive footage and in particular ''Our School'' in 1962, showing the changing ways of Britain's school and the last few years of the 11-plus exam. Maurice Kaufmann
Maurice Harington Kaufmann (29 June 1927 – 21 September 1997) was a British actor of stage, film and television, who specialised in whodunits and horror films, from 1954 to 1981, when he retired. Personal life He was married to Honor Blackman from 1961 to 1975; they appeared together in the film, '' Fright'' (1971). They adopted two children, daughter Lottie and son Barnaby, before divorcing in 1975. Death Maurice Kaufmann died in 1997 in London from cancer, aged 70. He was nursed, on his deathbed, by his ex-wife, Honor Blackman. Dorothy Alison (4 April 1925 – 17 January 1992) was an Australian stage, film and television actress Biography Dorothy Alison was born in the New South Wales mining city of Broken Hill and educated at Sydney Girls High School. She moved to London in 1949 to further her career. Aside from her numerous, mostly supporting film roles, she appeared in several television programmes and miniseries, including a prominent role in ''A Town Like Alice'', ''The Adventures of Robin Hood'' as the Duchess Constance and other TV shows. She was nominated for two BAFTA awards: Most Promising Newcomer for ''Mandy'' (1952) and Best British Actress for ''Reach for the Sky'' (1956). For her performance in ''A Town Like Alice'', she won the 1982 Logie Award (Australian television) for Best Supporting Actress in a Miniseries or Telemovie. Christine Silver (17 December 1883 – 23 November 1960) was a British stage, film and television actress, and a playwright. Early life Christine Isie Silver was born in 1883 (some sources give 1884), in London, the daughter of Arthur Silver and Isabella Charlotte Walenn Silver. Her father was a textile designer. ''Stryker of the Yard'' (also known as ''Stryker of Scotland Yard'' and ''Scotland Yard Cases'' ) is a 1953 British crime film directed by Arthur Crabtree and starring Clifford Evans, Susan Stephen, Jack Watling and Eliot Makeham. A second cinema film, ''Companions in Crime'' followed in 1954. In 1957, these films and others aired as a 15-episode British television series of the same name, starring Evans, George Woodbridge, and Tim Turner. The series was also shown on U.S. TV.
