Communist Party in Denmark () is a Communist party in Denmark. KPiD was founded in 1990, as a split from the Communist Party of Denmark (DKP). The founders of KPiD opposed the DKP decision (with other political fractions) to start the Red–Green Alliance political party. KPiD can be seen as more ideologically orthodox than DKP. KPiD is one of four active communist parties in Denmark. In recent years, attempts of the DKP, the KPiD and the KP to form a unified communist party have failed. The fourth communist party, the Workers' Communist Party (APK) refused to participate in the talks. The International Meeting of Communist and Workers' Parties (IMCWP) is an annual conference attended by communist and workers' parties from several countries. It originated in 1998 when the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) invited communist and workers' parties to participate in an annual conference where parties could gather to share their experiences and issue a joint declaration. International Communist Seminar
The International Communist Seminar (ICS) was an annual communist conference held in May in Brussels, Belgium. It was organized by the Workers' Party of Belgium (WPB). In 1992, Ludo Martens, leader of the WPB initiated the conference, which gathered various tendencies of Marxist-Leninist parties and organizations. He is noted for having proposed the unification of the four main tendencies of the Marxist-Leninist movement. These are the pro-Soviet groups, the pro- Chinese, the pro- Albanian, and pro-Cuban. Around 200 organizations of Africa, Latin America, North America, Asia and Europe have taken part in it. For four years, from 1992 to 1995, the ICS worked on identifying "the true causes of the capitalist restoration in Soviet Union" and in Eastern Europe and to draw lessons from it for the future. The Communist Party of Denmark ( da, Danmarks Kommunistiske Parti, DKP) is a communist party in Denmark. The DKP was founded on 9 November 1919 as the Left-Socialist Party of Denmark (, VSP), through a merger of the Socialist Youth League and Socialist Labour Party of Denmark, both of which had broken away from the Social Democrats in March 1918. The Communist Party ( da, Kommunistisk Parti, or KP) is a communist political party in Denmark. History and profile The party was formed in 2006 through the merger of Communist Party of Denmark (Marxist-Leninist) (DKP/ML) and Communist Unification (KS). The latter of which consisted of a group of breakaways from the KPiD, who chose to leave the party in 2005 in protest against the party's reluctance for a merger with DKP/ML. The party was founded as part of an attempt to unite the communist forces in Denmark, which had been divided between the Communist Party of Denmark and various changing small factions and parties since the 1970s. Of these smaller parties, Fælles Kurs achieved representation in the Folketing, while DKP/ML's forerunner, the Communist Workers' Party (KAP), did not.
