Communist League (Sweden)
Communist League ( sv, Kommunistiska Förbundet) was a small (now defunct) political communist party in Sweden, connected to the Socialist Workers Party of the United States, and distributor of '' the Militant '' and part of the Pathfinder organization. The Communist League was formed in 1989 by a group of members who broke away from Socialistiska Partiet, with the aim of creating a more proletarian-based party. Members are encouraged to take traditional working class jobs. Although the party is not particularly old, it claims continuity from the Russian October Revolution and the ideas of Lenin and Trotsky Lev Davidovich Bronstein. Proletarian
The proletariat (; ) is the social class of wage-earners, those members of a society whose only possession of significant economic value is their labour power (their capacity to work). A member of such a class is a proletarian. Marxist philosophy considers the proletariat to be exploited under capitalism, forced to accept meager wages in return for operating the means of production, which belong to the class of business owners, the bourgeoisie. Working Class
The working class (or labouring class) comprises those engaged in manual-labour occupations or industrial work, who are remunerated via waged or salaried contracts. Working-class occupations (see also " Designation of workers by collar colour") include blue-collar jobs, and most pink-collar jobs. The Socialistiska Partiet ( en, Socialist Party) was a Swedish Trotskyist political party, the Swedish section of the Fourth International. History The party was formed at a congress in 1971, through the merger of the Revolutionary Marxists (RM) and the Bolshevik Group (BG). Initially it was called League of Revolutionary Marxists ( sv, Revolutionära Marxisters Förbund, RMF). One section of RM did not agree with the formation of RM and formed the Communist Working Groups (KAG). KAG would later reconcile with RMF, merging into it in 1972. At the fifth party congress, held in 1975, the name was changed to Communist Workers League (''Kommunistiska Arbetarförbundet''). In 1982, the party adopted its current name. Trotskyism is the political ideology and branch of Marxism developed by Ukrainian-Russian revolutionary Leon Trotsky and some other members of the Left Opposition and Fourth International. Trotsky self-identified as an orthodox Marxist, a revolutionary Marxist, and Bolshevik–Leninist, a follower of Marx, Engels, and 3L: Vladimir Lenin, Karl Liebknecht, and Rosa Luxemburg. Pathfinder Tendency
The Pathfinder tendency is the unofficial name of a group of historically Trotskyist organizations that cooperate politically and organizationally with the Socialist Workers Party of the United States and support its solidarity with the Cuban Revolution and the Communist Party of Cuba. The current operates Pathfinder Bookstores, which sell the products of the SWP's publishing arm, Pathfinder Press. It is also known as the International Communist League, although this term is not widely used, and can cause confusion with other organizations of the same name.
