Communion is the debut studio album by South Korean musician Park Jiha. The album was released on 24 November 2016. Background Park Jiha was a member of the group Suːm from 2008 to 2016. She interviewed the album name as "After I finish the song, I think about the name I came across the word by chance, and I thought ''Communion'' was the most appropriate title that could penetrate my album with just one word. ''Communion'' also means "spiritual" and "holy charye."" Saxophonist Kim Oki played of the saxophone part of the album. Critial reception ''Communion'' was well received by music critics. On review aggregator website, Metacritic, ''Communion'' received an average rating of 78 out of 100 based on five professional critic reviews, indicating "generally favorable reviews". Park Jiha
Park Jiha (박지하) is a Korean composer and multi-instrumentalist. She employs a variety of traditional Korean musical instruments including the piri, yanggeum, and saenghwang The saenghwang is a Korean wind instrument. It is a free reed mouth organ derived from (and quite similar to) the Chinese '' sheng'', though its tuning is different. It is constructed from 17 bamboo pipes, each with a metal free reed, mounted ... to create postminimalist compositions. She has toured internationally across Europe, Australia, and the United States. Her 2016 debut album '' Communion'', later receiving a wider release on German record label Glitterbeat in 2018, was nominated for Best Crossover Album and Best Crossover Performance at the 2017 Korean Music Awards.
