Remiremont
Remiremont (; german: Romberg or ) is a town and commune in the Vosges department, northeastern France, situated in southern Grand Est. The town has been an abbatial centre since the 7th century, is an economic crossroads of the Moselle and Moselotte valleys, and is also a stepping stone for tourists wishing to explore the Vosges and neighbouring Alsace. Remiremont has got a police station, which covers the city and his suburban area. The fire station realizes more than 2000 interventions per year. Remiremont is also known as the La Belle des Vosges. Its inhabitants are known as ''Romarimontains''. Geography Remiremont is located on the river Moselle, close to its confluence with the Moselotte and in the foothills of the Vosges mountains. The town is southeast of the departmental capital of Épinal, south of Nancy, and west of the ski resorts of Gérardmer and La Bresse. Plombières-les-Bains
Plombières-les-Bains () is a commune in the Vosges department in Grand Est in eastern France. It was the seat of the former canton of Plombières-les-Bains. ''Les bains'' refers to the hot springs in the area, whose properties were first discovered by the Romans. In succeeding centuries, its baths were visited by Montaigne, Voltaire, the Dukes of Guise, the Dukes of Lorraine, Beaumarchais, Napoleon Bonaparte, Joséphine de Beauharnais, Napoléon III, Berlioz, Lamartine and Alfred de Musset. It is still a spa town with many buildings from the Second French Empire including the Church Saint Amé built with the financial support of Napoléon III. A ''communauté de communes'' (, "community of communes") is a federation of municipalities (communes) in France. It forms a framework within which local tasks are carried out together. It is the least-integrated form of ''intercommunalité'' (intercommunality). As of 1 January 2007, there were 2,400 ''communautés de communes'' in France (2,391 in metropolitan France and 9 in the overseas departments), with 26.48 million people living in them. Since then, many ''communautés de communes'' have been merged or have joined a ''communauté d'agglomération'', a ''communauté urbaine'' or a ''métropole''. While there were 2,408 ''communautés de communes'' in January 2010 and 1,842 in January 2016, there were only 1,009 ''communautés de communes'' left on 1 April 2018.BANATIC
