Communauté De Communes Creuse Grand Sud
The Communauté de communes Creuse Grand Sud is a ''communauté de communes'', an Communes of France#Intercommunality, intercommunal structure, in the Creuse departments of France, department, in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine regions of France, region, central France. It was created in January 2014 by the merger of the former communautés de communes Communauté de communes Aubusson-Felletin, Aubusson-Felletin and Communauté de communes du Plateau de Gentioux, Plateau de Gentioux. Aubusson, Creuse
Aubusson (; Occitan auvergnat: ''Le Buçon'', formerly ''Aubuçon'') is a commune in the Creuse department region in central France.
Geography
Aubusson is situated in the southern part of the ''département'', at the confluence of the rivers Creuse and Beauze. The route nationale N141 goes through the town.
History
Local lore previously held that the community was settled by defeated Berbers following the 8th-century Battle of Tours, but it is now established that Aubusson has existed at least since the Gallo-Roman period. The Camp des Châtres, within the town's boundaries, for a long time considered a Roman fort, actually dates back a little further, to the Iron Age.
The town was known as ''Albuciensis'' in 936 and under the name '' Albuconis'' in 1070. Gioux
Gioux (; ) is a commune in the Creuse department in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region in central France.
Geography
An area of forestry and farming, comprising the village and several hamlets situated some south of Aubusson, at the junction of the D35 and the D26 roads. The commune is in the national park of the ''Millevaches'' (1000 lakes, not cows).
