The communauté de communes C.I.A.T.E. du Pays Creuse-Thaurion-Gartempe was located in the Creuse ''departments of France, département'' of the Limousin (region), Limousin region of central France. It was created in January 1994.CC du Pays Creuse - Thaurion - Gartempe (N° SIREN : 242300101) BANATIC. Accessed 30 March 2022. It was merged into the new Communauté de communes Creuse Sud Ouest in January 2017. Ahun
Ahun (; ) is a commune in the Creuse department in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region in central France. Geography A farming area comprising the village and several hamlets situated in the valley of the Creuse, some southeast of Guéret, at the junction of the D942, D13 and the D18. It was the Roman site of ''Acitodunum'', an important town on the route between Limoges and Clermont-Ferrand. Population Sights * The viaduct carrying the railway 57m over the river, built by Lloyds and Nordling in 1864. * The church of St.Sylvain, dating from the twelfth century. * Three fifteenth century chateaux. Geography An area of streams, lakes, forestry and farming, comprising the village and several hamlets situated in the valley of the river Gartempe, some south of Guéret, where the D60 and the D50 roads join the D940.
