The 1994 Commonwealth of Independent States Cup was the second edition of the competition between the champions of former republics of Soviet Union. It was won by Spartak Moscow who defeated Uzbek side Neftchi Fergana in the final. As at the previous edition of the tournament, Ukraine opted not to send a team. Participants 1 Dynamo Kyiv ( 1992–93 Ukrainian champions) refused to participate (citing unwillingness to play at the traumatic artificial pitch) and were replaced by unofficial participants Russia U21 national team. 1993 Uzbek League
The 1993 Uzbek League season was the 2nd edition of top level football in Uzbekistan since independence from the Soviet Union in 1992. FK Neftchi Farg'ona, Neftchi Farg'ona once again won the league and the championship outright this time after previously sharing with FC Pakhtakor Tashkent, Pakhtakor Tashkent the season before. On winning the championship, Nefchi also qualified for the next edition of the AFC Champions League, the first time a club side from Uzbekistan would play in AFC competitions. They would also enter the 1994 Commonwealth of Independent States Cup a competition for former members of the Soviet Union. FC Irtysh Pavlodar ( kk, Ертіс Футбол Клубы, ''Ertis Fýtbol Klýby'') was a Kazakh professional football club based at the Central Stadium in Pavlodar. Irtysh won the Kazakhstan Premier league in 1993 (as ''Ansat''), 1997, 1999, 2002 and 2003.
