(Parliamentary) Committee on Health and Welfare ( sv, socialutskottet) (SoU) is a parliamentary committee in the Swedish Riksdag. The committee's main areas of responsibility concern the wellbeing of children and teenagers, care for the elderly and disabled, measures against addiction, and other social services issues. Parliamentary Committees In The Riksdag
There are fifteen parliamentary committees in the Riksdag, Sweden's parliament. Each committee is made up of seventeen elected MPs, with at least one member from each political party. Additionally, the committee on EU Affairs, while not one of the standing committees, has a similar role. The Left Party ( sv, Vänsterpartiet ; V) is a socialist political party in Sweden. On economic issues, the party opposes privatizations and advocates increased public expenditure. In foreign policy, the party is Eurosceptic, being opposed to the European Union, NATO, and Swedish entry into the eurozone. It attempted to get Sweden to join the Non-Aligned Movement in 1980, but did not succeed. The party is eco-socialist, and also supports anti-racism, feminism, and republicanism. It is placed on the left-wing of the political spectrum. Lena Ingeborg Hallengren (born 25 December 1973) is a Swedish politician of the Social Democratic Party who has been served as Minister for Health and Social Affairs in the cabinet of Prime Minister Stefan Löfven from 21 January 2019 until he left office in November 2021. Mona Sahlin
Mona Ingeborg Sahlin ( born 9 March 1957) is a Swedish politician who was leader of the opposition and leader of the Swedish Social Democratic Party from 2007 to 2011. Sahlin was a Member of Parliament, representing Stockholm County, from 1982 to 1996 and again from 2002 to 2011. She has also held ministerial posts in the Swedish government from 1990 to 1991, from 1994 to 1995 and from 1998 to 2006.
