Committee For Safeguarding National Security
The Committee for Safeguarding National Security of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region is a national security committee established by the Government of Hong Kong under the Article 12 of the Hong Kong national security law. The committee is supervised and accountable to the Central People's Government of China. The committee is chaired by the Chief Executive, as stated in the Article 13 of the law. The committee's other members are the Chief Secretary for Administration, the Financial Secretary, the Secretary for Justice, the Secretary for Security, the Commissioner of Police, the head of the department for safeguarding national security of the Hong Kong Police Force, the Director of Immigration, the Commissioner of Customs and Excise, and the Director of the Chief Executive's Office. Emblem Of Hong Kong
The Regional Emblem of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China came into use on 1 July 1997, after the transfer of the sovereignty of Hong Kong from the United Kingdom to the People's Republic of China. The emblem features the same design elements as the regional flag of Hong Kong in a circular setting. Hong Kong Liaison Office
The Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (; abbr. LOCPG or 香港中聯辦) is the agency that represents the Chinese Central People's Government in Hong Kong. It replaced the New China News Agency (NCNA) as the representative of the Chinese government in Hong Kong in 2000. Roles The Liaison Office was established in 2000 as the replacement of the New China News Agency (NCNA), the unofficial representative of the PRC government in Hong Kong during the colonial period since 1949. It followed the NCNA to promote the pro-Beijing united front and coordinate pro-Beijing candidates, mobilising supporters to vote for "patriotic" political parties and clandestinely orchestrating electoral campaigns. Luo Huining
Luo Huining (; born 5 October 1954) is a senior member of the Chinese Communist Party who is Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in Hong Kong. A native of Yiwu, Zhejiang, he was previously the Governor, then Party Secretary of Qinghai province before being appointed Party Secretary of Shanxi province. Career Luo Huining is a native of his ancestral home of Yiwu, Zhejiang province. He was born in Dangtu County, Anhui province. He entered the work force in 1970 as a sent-down youth in the countryside of Ma'anshan, and in 1971 became a steel worker at the Maanshan Iron and Steel Company. Hermes Tang Yi-hoi (; born 1964) is a former Commissioner of Customs and Excise of Hong Kong. Tang was the Deputy Commissioner of Customs and Excise before he was appointed Commissioner of Customs and Excise in July 2017 of the administration of Chief Executive Carrie Lam, becoming the first Commissioner not being an Administrative Officer since 1999. Au Ka-wang (; born 1967) is the current Director of Immigration of Hong Kong since July 2020. He began service in the Immigration Department in 1988. Career He joined the Immigration Department in November 1988 as an Assistant Immigration Officer. In 1992, he was promoted to Immigration Officer. In 2003, he was promoted to Senior Immigration Officer. National Security Department (Hong Kong)
National Security Department is a department of the Hong Kong Police Force established on 1 July 2020 under Hong Kong national security law (NSL) to "safeguard" the national security of China. Responsible for arresting pro-democracy politicians in the city, the National Security Department is regarded as the security police after the Hong Kong Special Branch was disbanded in 1995. With a structure similar to the Special Branch, the National Security Department is led by a Deputy Commissioner of Police. Edwina Lau Chi-wai, PMSM (, born 29 July 1965) is the head of the National Security Department of the Hong Kong Police Force, and also sits on the Committee for Safeguarding National Security. Career According to an official biography, Lau joined the Royal Hong Kong Police in 1984 and served in various roles relating to narcotics, fraud, commercial crime, human resources management, police training, and police command. Chris Tang Ping-keung (; born 4 July 1965) is a Hong Kong law enforcement administrator, currently serving the Secretary for Security of Hong Kong since 25 June 2021. He previously served as the Commissioner of the Hong Kong Police Force from November 2019 to June 2021.
