Commissioner General (China)
Commissioner General or General Commissioner () is the highest police rank in the People's Police of China. The Premier of the State Council confers the rank on individuals appointed at the ministerial level. The uniform shirt of a Commissioner General is white, as with other senior ranks of the People's Police, and the emblem on the shoulder boards is that of the National Emblem of the People's Republic of China surrounded by olive branches. Police ranks are a system of hierarchy, hierarchical relationships in police organizations. The rank system defines authority and responsibility in a police organization, and affects the culture within the police force. Police ranks, dependent on country, are similar to military ranks in function and design due to policing in many countries developing from military organizations and operations, such as in western Europe, former USSR, Soviet countries, and British Empire, English-speaking countries. Usually, uniforms denote the bearer's rank by particular insignia affixed to the uniforms. Rank is not only used to designate leadership, but to establish pay-grade as well. Xu Yongyue (; born July 1942) is a retired Chinese intelligence officer who served as the second Ministry of State Security (China), Minister of State Security (MSS) from March 1998 to August 2007. Chen Yixin
Chen Yixin (; born 1 September 1959) is a Chinese Communist Party politician who is the current Minister of State Security and the secretary-general of the Central Political and Legal Affairs Commission. Early life and education Chen was born in Taishun County, Zhejiang. Wang Xiaohong (; born 11 July 1957) is a senior police officer and politician of China who is serving as a secretary of the Secretariat of the Chinese Communist Party and the Minister of Public Security. The Ministry of Public Security () is a government ministry of the People's Republic of China responsible for public and political security. The Politburo of the Chinese Communist Party, formally known as the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and known as the Central Bureau before 1927, is the decision-making body of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
