Come Saturday Morning (The Sandpipers Album)
''Come Saturday Morning'' was an LP album featuring The Sandpipers, released by A&M Records in August 1970. The album reached #96 on the Billboard charts. The title track was also issued as a single and reached #17 on the Billboard charts. This was a different recording from the version released on the soundtrack album of the film ''The Sterile Cuckoo.'' The recording of "The Wonder of You" was the same recording as was included in the album of the same name. The August 8, 1970 issue of Billboard Magazine reviewed the album: :''The title tune put the smooth trio way up the singles chart, and is now spotlighted in this exceptional program which also features their new single, "Santo Domingo." Also included in this highly commercial package are top readings of "A Song of Joy," "Where There's a Heartache," and the film theme of "Beyond the Valley of the Dolls."'' The Sandpipers
The Sandpipers were an American easy listening trio who carved a niche in 1960s folk rock with their vocals and innovative arrangements of international ballads and pop standards. They are best remembered for their cover version of "Guantanamera", which became a transatlantic top 10 hit in 1966, and their top 20 hit " Come Saturday Morning" from the soundtrack of the film '' The Sterile Cuckoo'' in 1970. Singing in English, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, Latin, and Tagalog, the Sandpipers had seven separate album entries in the ''Billboard'' 200 from 1966-1970, and over a dozen charted singles. ''The Wonder of You'' was an LP album featuring The Sandpipers, released by A&M Records in May 1969 with catalog number SP 4180. The album was released by A&M in the United Kingdom with the title ''Kumbaya'' and catalog number AMLS 935. Other international releases included Australia (World Record Club R02377, different cover), Canada (A&M SP-4180), Germany (A&M 212 066), and Mexico (A&M AML/S-1024, titled ''La Maravilloso De Ti''). The May 3, 1969 issue of Billboard Magazine reviewed the album: :''This album, with the persuasive rhythm of the Sandpipers' singing, is definitive of easy listening at its best. The popular trio's material is no small part of the LP's success, and includes their current single, "The Wonder of You," their not to be imitated version of "Let Go," the Oscar-winning "Windmills of Your Mind," and the much recorded "Yellow Days." Robin Gibb
Robin Hugh Gibb (22 December 1949 – 20 May 2012) was a British singer and songwriter. He gained worldwide fame as a member of the Bee Gees pop group with elder brother Barry and fraternal twin brother Maurice. Robin Gibb also had his own successful solo career. Their youngest brother Andy was also a singer. Gibb was born in Douglas on the Isle of Man to English parents, Hugh and Barbara Gibb; the family later moved to Manchester for three years (where Andy was born) before settling in Redcliffe, just north of Brisbane, Australia. Barry Gibb
Sir Barry Alan Crompton Gibb (born 1 September 1946) is a British musician, singer-songwriter and record producer. He rose to worldwide fame as a member of the Bee Gees, one of the most commercially successful groups in the history of popular music. With his younger brothers, fraternal twins Robin and Maurice Gibb, he formed a songwriting partnership beginning in 1955.
