''Come 2 My House'' is the ninth studio album by American R&B/ funk singer Chaka Khan released on the NPG Records label in 1998. ''Come 2 My House'' was Khan's first full-length album since 1992's '' The Woman I Am'', due to the Warner Bros. Records label postponing and eventually cancelling the release of her tenth album ''Dare You to Love Me'' (1995). Overview The album included two single releases; "Spoon" and " Don't Talk 2 Strangers" - neither of which charted. The album however made a brief appearance on '' Billboards R&B Albums chart, peaking at #49. Michael Bland
Michael Bland (born March 14, 1969) is an American musician best known as a drummer for Prince starting in 1989. He was with Prince during The New Power Generation era and played with him live and on albums for seven years. From 1995 to 1997, Bland, along with Sonny Thompson, recorded and played live with French pop star France Gall—they appear on one studio album and two live albums. In 2010, Bland became a member of Nick Jonas & the Administration (a side project of Nick Jonas of the Jonas Brothers) along with other former members of The New Power Generation, bass player Sonny T. and keyboardist Tommy Barbarella. ''Girl 6'' is the 18th studio album by American recording artist Prince. It was released on March 19, 1996, by Warner Bros. Records. The album is the soundtrack album to the Spike Lee film of the same name. ''Girl 6'' consists of mostly previously released songs from Prince and related artists such as the Family, Vanity 6, and the New Power Generation. The three previously unreleased tracks are "She Spoke 2 Me" (recorded in 1991–1992), " Don't Talk 2 Strangers" (recorded in 1992, during sessions for the proposed ''I'll Do Anything'' soundtrack) and "Girl 6", which was newly recorded for the soundtrack. The New Power Generation, also known as The NPG, was the backing band of musician Prince from 1990 to 2013. They were replaced by 3rdeyegirl as his backing band in 2013. In 2015, the New Power Generation reunited as Prince's backing band for his final studio album before his death, '' Hit n Run Phase Two''. They reunited once again in 2017 for a US and European tour. Graham Central Station
Graham Central Station was an American funk band named after founder Larry Graham (formerly of Sly and the Family Stone). The name is a pun on New York City's Grand Central Terminal, often colloquially called Grand Central Station. History Origins The band's origins date from when Santana guitarist Neal Schon formed the band Azteca in 1972 along with Larry Graham (bass guitar) and Gregg Errico ( drums), both from Sly and the Family Stone, and Pete Sears (keyboards), from Hot Tuna and Jefferson Starship. Santana bass guitar player Tom Rutley moved into the bass spot with Azteca.
