''Fire Maidens from Outer Space'' (US: ''Fire Maidens of Outer Space'') is a 1956 British independent black-and-white science fiction feature film. It was written, produced and directed by American filmmaker Cy Roth as a collaboration between Cy Roth Productions and Great Britain's Criterion Films, and distributed in the UK by Eros Films and in the USA by Topaz Film Co.. The film stars Anthony Dexter as the lead astronaut, Susan Shaw as a "fire maiden" who befriends him, Paul Carpenter as the expedition captain, and Jacqueline Curtis as the "fire maiden" leader. Tristram Chockley Coffin (August 13, 1909 – March 26, 1990) was a film and television actor from the latter 1930s through the 1970s, usually in westerns or other B-movie action-adventure productions. Bob Peoples was an American powerlifter and farmer, known for breaking the record for world's heaviest deadlift. He first set the Light-heavyweight deadlift world record in 1946 lifting 651 lbs at a bodyweight of 175 lbs. He later beat his own record in 1947 with a lift of 710 lbs at a body weight of 185 lbs. Then in 1949 he set a long standing record lifting 725.75 lbs at a body weight of 181 lbs. Neva A. Gilbert (September 1, 1929 – November 12, 2022) was an American model. She was '' Playboy'' magazine's Playmate of the Month for its July 1954 issue. Early life Gilbert was born in New York City and started work at Sears and Roebuck by lying about her age in order to be eligible. She was married at age 16 and divorced within a few years. Career After moving to California Gilbert began modeling, and her acting roles included working with Marilyn Monroe. When ''Playboy'' was launched, it did not commission its own photo sessions. Gilbert's photos were actually taken by a private photographer, Tom Kelley, the same photographer who photographed Monroe and who sold Gilbert's photos to the Baumgarth Calendar Company.
