Coma FM
''Today Today'' was a drivetime radio show on Australia-wide radio station Triple J, broadcast between 3:00pm and 5:30pm weekdays during 2004 and 2005. The title is a parody of the Australian current affairs program ''Today Tonight'' on Channel Seven. It was hosted by Chaser members Chris Taylor and Craig Reucassel ("Chris and Craig"). The theme music to the show was the opening riff to the song "She Says What She Means" by Canadian band Sloan The show combined political satire, comedic discussion of the days events, and talkback from listeners with funny anecdotes on a given topic. Reucassel and Taylor also create satirical skits to play between program segments which lampoon commercial radio stations, current TV shows and topical world events. Other regular segments included the Small Talk Challenge, Two Types of People, Marketing Makeover and Pisslame Puns of the Week. One of the shows recurring segments, 'Coma FM', was a parody of many aspects of Australian commercial ...

Satire
Satire is a genre of the visual, literary, and performing arts, usually in the form of fiction and less frequently non-fiction, in which vices, follies, abuses, and shortcomings are held up to ridicule, often with the intent of shaming or exposing the perceived flaws of individuals, corporations, government, or society itself into improvement. Although satire is usually meant to be humorous, its greater purpose is often constructive social criticism, using wit to draw attention to both particular and wider issues in society. A feature of satire is strong irony or sarcasm —"in satire, irony is militant", according to literary critic Northrop Frye— but parody, burlesque, exaggeration, juxtaposition, comparison, analogy, and double entendre are all frequently used in satirical speech and writing. This "militant" irony or sarcasm often professes to approve of (or at least accept as natural) the very things the satirist wishes to question. Satire is found in many a ...

Roy And HG
Roy and HG are an Australian comedy duo, comprising Greig Pickhaver in the role of "H. G. Nelson" and John Doyle as "'Rampaging' Roy Slaven". Their act is an affectionate but irreverent parody of Australia's obsession with sport. Their characters are based on stereotypes in sports journalism: Nelson the excitable announcer, and Slaven the retired sportsman turned expert commentator. In his 1996 book ''Petrol, Bait, Ammo & Ice'', Pickhaver summarised the duo's comedic style as "making the serious trivial and the trivial serious". The duo's long-running triple j radio program ''This Sporting Life'' was added to the National Film and Sound Archive's Sounds of Australia registry in 2013, and the ''This Sporting Life'' 30th anniversary retrospective collection won the ARIA Award for Best Comedy Release in 2016. Since March 2020, Roy and HG's weekly show ''Bludging on the Blindside'' airs on Saturday afternoons on ABC Sport, ABC Local Radio, and the ABC Listen app, as well as podcas ...
