Colton High School (California)
Colton High School is an American public high school in Colton, California. It is located just north of Interstate 10 at Rancho Avenue. Colton High School opened in 1895 as the first High School of the Colton School District. It is one of five High Schools in the district. The school draws students from the city of Colton, as well as Grand Terrace and a small section of San Bernardino. The school is identified as a national AVID demonstration school, and was named a 2011 AP District of the Year in the midsize category by the College Board. Colton is a city in San Bernardino County, California, United States. Nicknamed "Hub City", Colton is located in the Inland Empire region of the state and is a suburb of San Bernardino, California, San Bernardino, approximately south of the city's Downtown San Bernardino, downtown. The population of Colton is 52,154 according to the 2010 census, up from 47,662 at the 2000 census. Colton is the site of Colton Crossing, which was one of the busiest at-grade rail transport, railroad crossings in the United States. The crossing was installed in 1882 by the California Southern Railroad to cross the Southern Pacific Railroad tracks while building northward from San Diego. Jay Dahl
Jay Steven Dahl (December 6, 1945 – June 21, 1965) was an American baseball pitcher who made his debut (and lone appearance) in Major League Baseball at age 17 in 1963, then died less than two years later in a car crash. Career Signed by the Houston Colt .45s as an undrafted free agent directly out of Colton High School (California) in June 1963, Dahl was sent to the Moultrie, Georgia Colt .22s of the Georgia–Florida League. Dahl dominated the league, with a 5–1 record and a 1.42 ERA—his only loss was a one-hitter, in his first appearance as a starter. Ken Hubbs
Kenneth Douglass Hubbs (December 23, 1941 – February 13, 1964) was an American professional baseball player. He played in Major League Baseball as a second baseman for the Chicago Cubs from to . Hubbs died at age 22 when the private plane he was piloting crashed near Provo, Utah prior to the 1964 season. In his short big-league career he was an excellent fielder, already earning a Gold Glove Award; assessments of his hitting were more mixed, as he was still developing as a hitter. Natnael Sabhato Berhe (born July 6, 1991) is a former American football free safety. He was drafted by the New York Giants in the fifth round of the 2014 NFL Draft. He played college football at San Diego State. Early years Berhe was born in Fontana, California, and attended Colton High School. His mother, Judy, is African American; his father, Berhe Asfaha, emigrated from Eritrea in 1970. During his youth, his family owned a gas station.
