Colorado Photographic Arts Center
The Colorado Photographic Arts Center (CPAC) is a non-profit photography organization that holds exhibitions and has a collection of photographic materials in Denver, Colorado. Originally founded in 1963, the Center has moved around to various spaces over the years, but now has found a home at 1070 Bannock Street in Denver's Golden Triangle neighborhood. In 1983 it was at 1730 Gaylord Street. It was in a Belmar storefront for 10 years before returning to Denver. It moved into its current space in 2017. In addition to exhibitions, CPAC offers classes and workshops. In December 2017, the Center held an exhibition of veterans' photography. Volunteers play an important part in its operations. The northern part of the neighborhood overlaps partially with the Denver Civic Center, an area of parks and civic buildings. The U.S. Census estimated the population of the neighborhood in 2017 as 1,962. The neighborhood has become popularly known as the Golden Triangle, particularly since a redevelopment boom beginning in the 1990s. The Civic Center neighborhood is one of the City of Denver's official neighborhoods designated for planning and city services' delivery purposes. Jessica Yatrofsky
Jessica Yatrofsky (born June 18, 1981) is an American artist, a photographer and a filmmaker living in Brooklyn, New York. Early life and education Jessica Yatrofsky was born in East Brunswick, New Jersey and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, the youngest of two daughters. She studied Fine Art at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas from 2002 to 2006 and later received her master's degree in photography in 2009 from Parsons the New School for Design. She moved to New York in 2006 where she began photographing both men and women, friends, peers, art models, and other acquaintances. In 2012, "she turned her camera to the women around her, taking portraits of dozens of female friends who in turn suggested more and more women for Yatrofsky to shoot." Photography is the art, application, and practice of creating durable images by recording light, either electronically by means of an image sensor, or chemically by means of a light-sensitive material such as photographic film.
