Colorado State Register Of Historic Properties
The Colorado State Register of Historic Properties, administered by the History Colorado Office of Archaeology and Historic Preservation, is a listing of significant historic resources. History Colorado maintains a list of the Colorado State Register of Historic Properties, which can include archaeological and historic structures, buildings, objects and districts. Properties are added to the state register by nomination to History Colorado. Any Colorado historic sites added to the National Register of Historic Places are automatically included in the Colorado State Register. Georgetown Loop Historic Mining & Railroad Park
The Georgetown Loop Railroad is a narrow gauge United States heritage railroad located in the Rocky Mountains in Clear Creek County, adjacent to Interstate 70 in Colorado. This tourist train runs between the communities of Georgetown and Silver Plume, a distance of . The route is long and ascends an elevation of through mountainous terrain along with trestles, cuts, fills, and a grand loop. The railroad is situated near I-70, with Silver Plume Depot sitting adjacent to the eastbound on-ramp. History Of Colorado
The region that is today the U.S. State of Colorado has been inhabited by Native Americans and their Paleoamerican ancestors for at least 13,500 years and possibly more than 37,000 years. The eastern edge of the Rocky Mountains was a major migration route that was important to the spread of early peoples throughout the Americas. Salt Works Ranch
The Salt Works Ranch, at 3858 U.S. Route 285 in Park County, Colorado near Hartsel, Colorado, was founded in 1862. The land is unusual for the presence of saline springs. The Ute Indian Museum is a local history museum in Montrose, Colorado, Montrose, Colorado, United States. It is administered by History Colorado (the Colorado Historical Society). Trinidad is the home rule municipality that is the county seat and the most populous municipality of Las Animas County, Colorado, United States. The population was 8,329 as of the 2020 census. Dexter Cabin
Dexter Cabin was the Leadville, Colorado home and hunting lodge of James V. Dexter, a mining investor and businessman. Although it is a cabin, the interior has been described as "surprisingly plush," "elegantly finished," and "incredibly ornate.".
