Colorado College Tigers Men's Basketball
The Colorado College Tigers are composed of 16 teams representing Colorado College in intercollegiate athletics, including men and women's basketball, cross country, lacrosse, soccer, swimming & diving, tennis, and track and field. Men's sports include ice hockey. Women's sports include volleyball. The Tigers compete in NCAA Division III and are members of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference for all sports except men's ice hockey and women's soccer, which compete in NCAA Division I. Colorado College is a private liberal arts college in Colorado Springs, Colorado. It was founded in 1874 by Thomas Nelson Haskell in his daughter's memory. NCAA Division I (D-I) is the highest level of College athletics, intercollegiate athletics sanctioned by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) in the United States, which accepts players globally. Kris Mayotte
Kristofer Mayotte is the current head coach for Colorado College. Previously he was an assistant coach at Providence and helped the team win its first national championship in 2015. Career Mayotte began his collegiate career at Union College in 2002. He became the team starting goaltender as a freshman and remained a fixture in net for four years. During Mayotte's tenure, the team didn't see much success, recording just one non-losing season and one playoff win (in 9 attempts). Despite this, Mayotte played well in goal, particularly in his senior season. He was named to the second All-ECAC team and posted a program record for both a season and career in shutouts (both have since been broken). The annual NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey Tournament is a college ice hockey tournament held in the United States by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) to determine the top men's team in Division I. Water Polo
Water polo is a competitive team sport played in water between two teams of seven players each. The game consists of four quarters in which the teams attempt to score goals by throwing the ball into the opposing team's goal. The team with the most goals at the end of the game wins the match. Each team is made up of six field players and one goalkeeper. Excluding the goalkeeper, players participate in both offensive and defensive roles. It is typically played in an all-deep pool where players cannot touch the bottom. Ed Robson Arena
The Ed Robson Arena in Colorado Springs, Colorado is a 3,400-seat ice hockey arena on the campus of Colorado College. The arena opened on September 18, 2021. History Plans for a school-run arena date as far back as 2008 in the Colorado College Long Range Development Plan. At the time of planning, the Robson arena would be the second smallest facility in the NCHC, ahead of just the Goggin Ice Center on the Miami University campus. Colorado College justified this decision due to both the small undergraduate size of the college (approximately 2,000) and the average actual attendance of Tiger games (about 2,800). Construction started in February of 2020 and in spite of the COVID-19 pandemic, the arena was opened ahead of schedule in mid-September 2021.
