Colorado's 2nd Senate district is one of 35 districts in the Colorado Senate. It has been represented by Republican Jim Smallwood since 2023. Prior to redistricting the district was represented by Republicans Dennis Hisey and Kevin Grantham. Geography District 2 covers suburbs and exurbs of Colorado Springs and other parts of central Colorado, including all of Clear Creek, Fremont, Park, and Teller Counties and parts of El Paso County. Communities in the district include Idaho Springs, Georgetown, Fairplay, Cañon City, Florence, Lincoln Park, Penrose, Cripple Creek, Woodland Park, Fountain, Cascade-Chipita Park, Ellicott, Fort Carson, and parts of Security-Widefield. Colorado (, other variants) is a state in the Mountain West subregion of the Western United States. Cañon City is a home rule municipality that is the county seat and the most populous municipality of Fremont County, Colorado, United States. The city population was 17,141 at the 2020 United States Census. Cañon City is the principal city of the Cañon City, CO Micropolitan Statistical Area and is a part of the Front Range Urban Corridor. Colorado's 5th congressional district is a congressional district in the U.S. state of Colorado. The district lies in the center of the state and comprises Colorado Springs and its suburbs including Cimarron Hills and Fort Carson. The district is currently represented by Republican Doug Lamborn. With a Cook Partisan Voting Index rating of R+12, it is one of the most Republican districts in Colorado. The City of Fountain is a home rule municipality located in El Paso County, Colorado, United States.
