David Bromstad
David Reed Bromstad (born August 17, 1973) is an American designer and television personality. In 2006, he became the winner of the debut season of ''HGTV Design Star''. He has hosted a number of HGTV shows, including ''Color Splash'', ''Beach Flip'' and ''My Lottery Dream Home''. Early life and education Bromstad was born the youngest of four children to Diane Marlys Bromstad (née Krueger) and Richard Harold David Bromstad in Cokato, Minnesota. His mother is of Swedish and German descent, and his father is of Norwegian descent. He has three older siblings, Dean Richard Bromstad, Dynelle Renee Bromstad, and Dyonne Rachael Bromstad. He was always interested in art and design, and while attending Wayzata High School made a decision to pursue a career as a Disney animator. ''HGTV Star'', named ''HGTV Design Star'' for the first seven seasons, is an American reality competition show that premiered on July 23, 2006, on the cable television network HGTV. Clive Pearse served as host for Seasons 1-4, then judge Vern Yip served as host for Season 5, replacing Clive Pearse. HGTV'D host Tanika Ray served as host for Season 6 and Design Star Season 1 winner David Bromstad join the show as a mentor. Karen McAloon
Karen McAloon (born August 16, 1968) is the designer/host on the television show ''Find Your Style'' on Home & Garden Television, HGTV (seasons 1 & 2: 2007; season 3: 2008), and the designer/host of HGTV's Design Remix that ran from 2005-2007 (7 season, 91 episodes). Karen began on the HGTV Network as a guest landscape designer on five episodes of Landscape Smart in 2004/05.
