A narrative work beginning ''in medias res'' (, "into the middle of things") opens in the midst of the plot (cf. ''ab ovo'', ''ab initio''). A recurring character is a fictional character, usually in a prime time TV series, who frequently appears from time to time during the series' run. An audition is a sample performance by an actor, singer, musician, dancer or other performer.
