Colonel Frank Seely Academy
Colonel Frank Seely Academy (formerly Colonel Frank Seely School) is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form located in Calverton in the English county of Nottinghamshire. The school is named after Frank Evelyn Seely (1864–1928), a former High Sheriff of Nottinghamshire and Councillor for Calverton on Nottinghamshire County Council. In 1957 the Colonel Frank Seely School was opened in memory of him. Previously a community school administered by Nottinghamshire County Council, in October 2017 Colonel Frank Seely School converted to academy status and was renamed Colonel Frank Seely Academy. The school is now sponsored by Redhill Academy Trust. Colonel Frank Seely Academy offers GCSEs and BTECs as programmes of study for pupils, while students in the sixth form have the option to study from a range of A Levels and further BTECs. Redhill Academy is a secondary school and sixth form with academy status, situated on Redhill Road in Arnold, Nottinghamshire, England. Samuel Kenneth William Wood (born 3 April 1993) is an English cricketer. Wood is a left-handed batsman who bowls right-arm off break. He was born at Nottingham, Nottinghamshire and educated at the Colonel Frank Seely School in Nottingham. County career Wood made his debut for Nottinghamshire in a List A match in the 2011 Clydesdale Bank 40 against Essex. Richard Whitehead (athlete)
Richard Whitehead MBE (born 19 July 1976) is a British athlete. He runs with prosthetic legs, as he has a double through-knee congenital amputation. He set world records for athletes with a double amputation, in both the full and half marathon. At the 2010 Chicago Marathon, he broke his previous world record for athletes with lower-limb amputations, with a time of 2:42:52. Whitehead's marathon record was beaten by 28 seconds by Marko Cheseto at the 2019 Boston Marathon. Whitehead was unable to compete in the marathon at London 2012 as there was no category for leg amputees, and was refused permission by the IPC to compete against upper-body amputees and so had to turn to sprinting to compete at the 2012 Paralympics, where he won the gold medal in the 200m T42 Athletics event with a world record time of 24.38 seconds. Mark Steven Spencer (born 20 January 1970) is a British politician serving as Minister of State for Food, Farming and Fisheries since 2022. He previously served as Leader of the House of Commons and Lord President of the Council from February to September 2022 and as Chief Whip from 2019 to 2022. Christopher Colin Dean, OBE (born 27 July 1958) is a British ice dancer who won a gold medal at the 1984 Winter Olympics with his skating partner Jayne Torvill. They also won a bronze medal at the 1994 Winter Olympics. Early life Dean grew up in Calverton, Nottinghamshire. When he was six, his mother left and his father remarried. Christopher Thomas Adcock (born 27 April 1989) is a retired English badminton player. Adcock is currently sponsored by Yonex and YC Sports and plays for the University of Nottingham-based NBL team. He entered the National team in 2006, and later won the boys' doubles and mixed team titles at the 2007 European Junior Championships. He was a World Championships medalists winning a silver in 2011 with Imogen Bankier and a bronze in 2017 with Gabby Adcock.
