Dove
Columbidae () is a bird family consisting of doves and pigeons. It is the only family in the order Columbiformes. These are stout-bodied birds with short necks and short slender bills that in some species feature fleshy ceres. They primarily feed on seeds, fruits, and plants. The family occurs worldwide, but the greatest variety is in the Indomalayan and Australasian realms. The family contains 344 species divided into 50 genera. Thirteen of the species are extinct. In English, the smaller species tend to be called "doves" and the larger ones "pigeons". However, the distinction is not consistent, and does not exist in most other languages. Andrea Colombo (born 14 February 1974 in Bollate) is an Italian sprinter who specialized in the 100 metres. He won nine medals (eight at senior level), at the International athletics competitions, seven of these with national relays team. Biography He finished seventh in 4 x 100 metres relay at the 2000 Olympic Games, together with teammates Francesco Scuderi, Alessandro Cavallaro and Maurizio Checcucci. He also won the gold medal in 200 metres at the 1993 European Junior Championships, and at the 2001 Mediterranean Games he won the silver medal in 200 metres and the gold medal in relay. Chrystian Gabriel Colombo (born 1952) is an Argentine businessman and politician who served as Chief of the Cabinet of Ministers during the presidency of Fernando de la Rúa, from 2000 to 2001. Christine Colombo Nilsen (married Hajo, born 30 April 1982) is a retired Norwegian football goalkeeper. She currently (2012) plays for Vålerenga in the Toppserien. She is also a member of the Norway women's national football team. She has appeared nine times for the national team since her debut on March 11, 2006 in a match against Finland. Charles Martin Colombo (July 20, 1920 – May 7, 1986) was an American soccer player who earned 11 caps as center-half for the United States men's national soccer team. After attending the school of arts and crafts run by the Società Umanitaria in Milan, Colombo enrolled at the Brera Academy for the evening classes taught by Giuseppe Palanti and then Ambrogio Alciati’s course of nude studies.
