Tazzie Colomb (born August 20, 1966) is an American professional female bodybuilder and powerlifter. She is one of the longest-competing IFBB female professional body builders of all time. Friedrich August Peter von Colomb (19 June 1775 – 12 November 1854) was a Prussian general. Biography Colomb was born in Aurich, Eastern Frisia as a son of the highranking Prussian public official (Geheimer Ober-Finanzrat und Kammerpräsidenten von Aurich) Pierre Colomb (1719–1797; after 1786 Peter von Colomb). His brother Ludwig Christoph von Colomb (1768–1831) was the Royal Prussian President of Breslau, his sister Amalie (1772–1850) married Gebhard Leberecht von Blücher in 1795. Colomb joined the Zieten Hussars in Berlin in 1792 and became a second lieutenant of the King's own Hussarregiment ''von Rudorff'' in 1797. He took part in the Napoleonic Wars of 1806 under the command of Blücher in Thuringia and the defense of Lübeck. Colomb was promoted to a Rittmeister in 1811 and fought against French troops in 1813/14. Philip Howard Colomb
Vice-Admiral Philip Howard Colomb, RN (29 May 1831 – 13 October 1899). Born in Knockbrex, near Gatehouse of Fleet, Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland, he was a Royal Navy officer, historian, critic and inventor. He was the son of General George Thomas Colomb (1787–1874). His younger brother Sir John Colomb was also a soldier and strategist of the Royal Navy. John Colomb
Sir John Charles Ready Colomb, (1 May 1838 – 27 May 1909) was a British naval strategist and politician. Life Colomb was born in Onchan, Isle of Man, the son of General George Thomas Colomb (1787–1874), and was the younger brother of British Vice-Admiral Philip Howard Colomb. He was educated privately, and entered the Royal Naval College from which he passed out in 1854 into the Royal Marine Artillery. After being variously employed with the Navy, Army, Militia and Volunteers he retired in 1869 with the rank of captain. He thenceforth devoted himself to the study of naval and military problems, on which he had already published some essays. Joséphine Colomb (née, Bouchet; 4 February 1833 – 17 September 1892) was a 19th-century French children's writer, lyricist, and translator who signed her works, Mme J. Colomb or Mme Louis-Casimir Colomb. She was a recipient of the Montyon Prize (1875) for '' La fille de Carilès''. In 1893, she was a recipient of the Jules-Favre Prize. Colomb died in 1892. Biography Joséphine-Blanche Bouchet was born in La Roche-sur-Yon (Vendée), 1833. Her parents were Louis (1785-1866), a doctor of medicine, and Marie Anne Julienne Perrine (Langlais) Bouchet (1790-1859). Marie-Louis-Georges Colomb (Lure, Haute-Saône, 25 May 1856 – Nyons, 3 January 1945) was a French botanist, science populariser, and a pioneer of French comics, known as '' bandes dessinées ''. Under the pseudonym Christophe (playing on "Christophe Colomb", the French name for Columbus), Colomb created comics that were popular among the French intelligentsia, yet were published in ''Le Petit Français illustré'', a children's paper. His popular ''L'idée fixe du savant Cosinus'' (1893–1899) featured a brilliant, absent-minded scientist. Yvonne Dorsey-Colomb
Yvonne Dorsey-Colomb (born August 19, 1952) is an American politician from the state of Louisiana who represented the 14th district in the Louisiana State Senate from 2008 until 2020. A Democrat, she is a former member of the Louisiana House of Representatives, of which she had been chosen Speaker Pro Tempore. Dorsey-Colomb and her husband, Sterling Colomb, Jr., reside in the capital city of Baton Rouge. Sterling founded the Colomb Foundation to raise awareness of breast cancer. Though John Neely Kennedy, the state treasurer, listed the foundation as not adhering to state laws on disclosing their financial information, a later investigation found the foundation to be in compliance with all state laws. George Thomas Colomb
George Thomas Colomb (4 June 1787 – 20 March 1874) was a British Army general and a talented amateur artist. He was born in Twickenham, London, the son of Swiss émigré Pierre Philippe Colomb (1744–1799) and his wife Maria Elizabeth Burchell (1746–1828). He joined the British Army in 1808 as an ensign in the 96th Regiment of Foot. He served on the staff in America in 1814/15 and was promoted to major in 1817 and lieutenant-colonel in 1841. By that time he was living in Dublin and exhibited several of his paintings at the Royal Hibernian Academy. From then on, he was almost an annual exhibitor until 1868 and elected an Honorary Member of the Academy in 1854. In 1843 he was appointed Commandant of the Royal Hibernian Military School in Phoenix Park, a position he vacated when promoted major-general in 1858. Michel Colombe (c. 1430 – c. 1513) was a French sculptor whose work bridged the late Gothic and Renaissance styles. Born in Bourges into a family of artisans, he was active in Tours. Colombe's surviving works all date from his old age. He created the ''gisant'' figures of the two deceased children of Charles VIII of France on their monument (1506) in Tours Cathedral. However, his most important surviving works were for the magnificent tomb of Francis II, Duke of Brittany, in Nantes Cathedral (1502–1507), and for the mausoleum of Philibert II of Savoy, at Notre-Dame de Brou, his masterwork. The Francis II monument was designed by Jean Perréal; it was disassembled and buried for safekeeping during the French Revolution.
