Colm McKinstry
Colum McKinstry (1949 – 8 August 2021) was a Gaelic football manager and player. At club level he played with Clan na Gael and also played at senior level for the Armagh county team throughout the 1970s and 1980s. He usually lined out at midfield. Career McKinstry had several successes with the Lurgan-based club Clan na Gael who he represented at senior level between 1967 and 1985. The side won three Ulster Club Championship titles in that period, while he was also on the side that lost the 1974 All-Ireland club final to University College Dublin. McKinstry joined the Armagh senior football team in 1968 and made his debut in a pre-season tournament involving Armagh, Antrim, Dublin and Sligo. He subsequently established himself on the team where he collected three Ulster Championships, including one as captain of the side in 1982. Clan Na Gael GAA (Armagh)
Clan na Gael Gaelic Athletic Club ( ga, CLG Clan na Gael) is a Gaelic Athletic Association club situated in the town of Lurgan, County Armagh, Northern Ireland. The club's pitch, Davitt Park, is named in honour of Michael Davitt, also the original club name. Throughout its 99-year history it has provided some of the most successful Gaelic footballers in Ireland. The club will be celebrating its Centenary in 2022. The club pursues the founding ideals of the GAA, namely the promotion of all things Gaelic - the Irish language, the culture, the games, the pastimes and the country. The club also takes great pride in its tradition in camogie. GAA All Stars Awards
The Gaelic Athletic Association-Gaelic Players' Association All Stars Awards (often known simply as the All Stars) are awarded annually to the best player in each of the 15 playing positions in Gaelic football and hurling. Additionally, one player in each code is selected as Player of the Year. The awards were instituted in 1971. Since 2011 they have been presented jointly by the Gaelic Athletic Association and the representative body for inter-county players, the Gaelic Players Association. Each player who receives a nomination is given a medallion marking the milestone. It is considered "the most coveted sporting award scheme in the country". The 1982 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship was the 96th staging of the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship, the Gaelic Athletic Association's premier inter-county Gaelic football tournament. The championship began on 9 May 1982 and ended on 19 September 1982. It was the last year to date that a Kilkenny team played in the Leinster championship. Kerry were the defending champions and were hoping to win a record-breaking fifth successive championship title. Kerry qualified for the final. On 19 September 1982, Offaly won the championship following a 1-15 to 0-17 defeat of Kerry in one of the most dramatic and iconic All-Ireland finals in the history of the championship. Armagh Senior Football Championship
The Armagh Senior Football Championship is an annual Gaelic football competition contested by top-tier Armagh GAA clubs. The Armagh County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association has organised it since 1889. Clann Éireann are the title holders (2021) defeating Crossmaglen Rangers in the Final. History The first official football champions of Armagh, following the creation in 1889 of the County Board, were Armagh Harps, in the 1889 final which saw the defeat of Blackwatertown in Armagh by a scoreline of 4-14 to 0-03. Crossmaglen Rangers have won the Armagh senior football championship on most occasions, with 40 victories since 1906, including a run of 13 wins from 1996 to 2008.
