Colm Cavanagh
Colm Cavanagh is a Gaelic footballer from the Moy club and, previously, for the Tyrone county team. His older brother Seán also played for Tyrone. Playing career Cavanagh played for the University of Ulster team, and in 2007, reached the Sigerson Cup Final. He was part of the Tyrone Under-21 team won the Ulster Championship in 2006. His Tyrone Senior career was shrouded in controversy from the beginning. He made his debut for Tyrone in the 2007 Dr McKenna Cup; however, he had also been selected by his university team for the competition. The competition rules state that in such an event, the university should get first choice of the player, in order to even up the competition. Tyrone manager Mickey Harte refused to obey this rule, contending that it should be up to the players to decide whom they wish to play for. The Dublin county football team represents Dublin in men's Gaelic football and is governed by Dublin GAA, the county board of the Gaelic Athletic Association. The team competes in the three major annual inter-county competitions; the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship, the Leinster Senior Football Championship and the National Football League. Damien McCaul
Damien McCaul is a Gaelic footballer who plays for the Donaghmore GAA club and at senior level for the Tyrone county team. He plays as a corner-back. Career McCaul made the breakthrough into the Tyrone team in the 2007 McKenna Cup pre-season competition and was soon embroiled in controversy. It was claimed he should not have been fielded in the McKenna Cup, being a Colleges player with the University of Ulster. However, he went on to be part of the Tyrone side in the National Football League. Tyrone won the Ulster Senior Football Championship and thus reached the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship. McCaul was a starting member of the team that played Meath GAA. Although McCaul kicked a point from corner-back, Meath won by 1-13 to 2-8 to knock Tyrone out. All-Ireland Minor Football Championship
The Electric Ireland All-Ireland Minor Football Championship is the premier under-17 "knockout" competition in Gaelic football played in Ireland. 2017 was the final year of the minor under 18 football championship as it were replaced by an under 17 championship following a vote at the GAA congress on 26 February 2016. The Ulster Minor Football Championship is the Minor "knockout" competition in the game of Gaelic football played in the province of Ulster in Ireland. The series of games are organised by the Ulster Council. The trophy for the winning side is The Liam Murray Cup. The competition began in 1930, with Armagh winning during the inaugural year. The Tyrone Intermediate Football Club Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the LCC Group Tyrone Intermediate Football Club Championship) is an annual Gaelic football competition contested by mid-tier Tyrone GAA clubs. Galbally Pearses are the title holders (2022) defeating Edendork St Malachy's in the final. History The tournament was first held in 1962, with Cookstown the first champions defeating Galbally in the final. The semi-final of the 2021 Tyrone Intermediate Football Championship was abandoned after eight minutes and an Air Ambulance had to land on the pitch at Healy Park to care for the injured. As with other sports, the COVID-19 pandemic caused disruption to Gaelic games, primarily in Ireland but also elsewhere in the world. Competitions were cancelled, postponed or restructured, while some teams were withdrawn or were unable to participate in those competitions that went ahead. The sports (football, hurling, camogie, and ladies' football) saw all competitions suspended from 12 March 2020. The National Hurling League, National Football League, National Camogie League and Ladies' National Football League, which were all running at the time, were suspended, with competitions not intended to resume until 29 March at the earliest. The Ulster Senior Football Championship is an inter-county competition for Gaelic football teams in the province of Ulster. It is organised by the Ulster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) and begins in early May. The final is usually played on the third Sunday in July. All nine Ulster counties participate. It is regarded as hardest to win of the four provincial football championships.
