Giorgio Colli
Giorgio Colli (1917 – 6 January 1979) was an Italian philosopher, philologist and historian. A native of Turin, he taught ancient philosophy at Pisa's university for thirty years; he edited and translated Aristotle's ''Organon'' and Kant's '' Critique of Pure Reason'' for Einaudi, a major publishing house in Italy. Subsequently, he produced the first complete edition of Nietzsche's work (including all the posthumous fragments chronologically ordered) together with his friend Mazzino Montinari. His work culminated in ''La Sapienza greca'', an edition and translation of the "Presocratics" (a term he rejected). Interrupted by his death in January 1979, it was supposed to be in eleven volumes. Ilio Colli, vulgo Paor (May 30, 1931 – February 21, 1953), was a skier from Italy. He represented his native country at the 1952 Winter Olympics in Oslo, where he came in eighteenth in the men's downhill event. Colli, fourth of six children of Vincenzo Colli and his wife Dimai Costanza, née Piero de Jenzio Dea, was born in Cortina d'Ampezzo. Michelangelo Alessandro Colli-Marchi, or Michele Angelo Alessandro Colli-Marchei or Michael Colli, (Vigevano 1738 – Florence 22 December 1808) joined the Austrian army, became a general officer, and led the army of the Kingdom of Sardinia-Piedmont for three years, including its unsuccessful campaign against Napoleon Bonaparte in 1796. In early 1797, he was given command of the army of the Papal States, but was defeated at Faenza. Early career Born in Lombardy in 1738, Colli enlisted in the army of the Habsburg monarchy as an infantry officer in 1756 at the age of 18. During the Seven Years' War, he fought at the Battle of Prague in 1757 and the Battle of Torgau in 1760, and was wounded in the latter action. He received the noble title Freiherr in 1764. Biography Cousin of Franco Delli Colli, Antonio (Tonino) Delli Colli was born in Rome, and began work at Rome's Cinecittà studio in 1938, at the age of sixteen.
