Collegiate Championship Invitational
The USA Sevens Rugby Collegiate Championship Invitational, (also now referred to as the 2010 Collegiate Rugby Championship), was a rugby union sevens tournament. The competition was held from 4–6 June at Columbus Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio. The CCI was a groundbreaking event in college rugby for several reasons—it was the first ever rugby sevens championship contested among college rugby programs, and it was the first time college rugby was broadcast live on network TV. This was the only year that the tournament was called the "Collegiate Championship Invitational." The following year, the tournament changed its name to the "Collegiate Rugby Championship." The men's tournament featured sixteen teams, whereas the women's tournament featured eight teams. The tournament consisted of four round-robin pools of four teams. Duncan George Kelm (born March 6, 1988) is a former USA Rugby national team member, World Rugby Sevens Series competitor, and United States Olympic Training Center resident. As a prop and hooker, he played for the USA Rugby Men's Sevens team from 2011 to 2012, and appeared in four international tournaments. Prior to his full-time move into Sevens rugby, he had numerous appearances on the USA Rugby Men's Fifteens team from 2010 to 2011. Don Pati (born 24 May 1990) is a Samoan-born American professional rugby union player. He plays as a wing or full back for the Utah Warriors in Major League Rugby and previously for the USA Sevens team internationally. Thretton Palamo (born September 22, 1988) is an American rugby union player who plays centre for Old Glory DC of Major League Rugby (MLR). When he appeared in the 2007 Rugby World Cup, he became the youngest ever player to have played in the Rugby World Cup, a record that was surpassed in 2015 by Vasil Lobzhanidze of Georgia. Nate Ebner
Nathan Ebner (born December 14, 1988) is an American football safety and special teamer who is a free agent, and a rugby sevens player for the United States national rugby sevens team. Ebner played rugby union (15-a-side) on the US Under-19 and Under-20 national teams, and was named MVP for the teams at both the 2007 and 2008 IRB Junior World Championships. He later played rugby sevens for the US national team at the 2016 Summer Olympics. Despite not having played high school football, in his junior year of college he then walked on to and played college football for the Ohio State Buckeyes. Hawley was brought into the USA Eagles Player Pool, and began playing for the US national team while he was still in college. He made his test debut against Georgia in June 2009. The Dartmouth Rugby Football Club (or Dartmouth Rugby) is the men's college rugby team of Dartmouth College.
