Chinese University Of Hong Kong
The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) is a public research university in Ma Liu Shui, Hong Kong, formally established in 1963 by a charter granted by the Legislative Council of Hong Kong. It is the territory's second-oldest university and was founded as a federation of three existing colleges – Chung Chi College, New Asia College and United College – the oldest of which was founded in 1949. CUHK is organized into nine constituent colleges and eight academic faculties, and remains the only collegiate university in the territory. Chung Chi College
The Chung Chi College is one of the constituent colleges of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), and one of the three original colleges that joined to form the CUHK in 1963. Founded in 1951 by representatives of Protestant churches in Hong Kong, it was formally incorporated under the Chung Chi College Incorporation Ordinance in 1955. New Asia College
New Asia College is a constituent college of the Chinese University of Hong Kong located in Sha Tin, New Territories, Hong Kong. History New Asia College was founded in 1949 by Chinese scholars Ch'ien Mu (Qian Mu), Tang Junyi (Tang Chun-i), and Zhang Pijie (Tchang Pi-kai), in Hong Kong, then a British dependency, after the Communist victory in mainland China. The United College of Hong Kong is one of the constituent colleges of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and one of the three original colleges when the university was founded in 1963. Shaw College (Hong Kong)
Shaw College () is the fourth constituent college to be established at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. It is located in the northwest area of the CUHK campus, facing Tolo Harbour. History The college is named after its patron, Sir Run Run Shaw, who donated five hundred million Hong Kong dollars toward its establishment in May 1985. In the same year, the university established a task force to prepare for its establishment. The foundation of the college was enabled by the ''Chinese University of Hong Kong (Declaration of Shaw College) Ordinance'' passed by the Legislative Council in July 1986. The foundation stone was laid on 12 January 1987 in a ceremony officiated by Run Run Shaw and Acting Governor David Akers-Jones. This is considered the school anniversary, and is celebrated each year through student events. Morningside College () is one of the nine colleges of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). Motto The motto of the College is Scholarship, Virtue, Service. History Morningside College was established in 2006 with generous and imaginative donations from thMorningside Foundationand the Morningside Education Foundation. The Scottish economist and winner of the 1996 Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences, Professor Sir James Mirrlees, was appointed the founding Master that same year. The fully residential College accommodates 300 students with communal dining three nights per week during term time. The College admitted its first cohort in 2010. Lee Woo Sing College
Lee Woo Sing College is one of the new colleges of the Chinese University of Hong Kong. It was founded by university council in 2007 and admitted its first class of students in 2011. The naming of the college is made possible by a HK$150 million donation and is named after entrepreneur :zh-tw:李和声, Lee Woo Sing. Site It is located to the northwest of the existing United College of Hong Kong, United College. Facilities There are two buildings, North Block and Dorothy and Ti-Hua KOO Building (South Block).
