College Park is a historic neighborhood of Central San Jose, California, located within the greater district of The Alameda. History The area has been called College Park since 1871, when the University of the Pacific built its campus in the area. The University existed in San Jose until 1923, when it moved to Stockton, California. When University of the Pacific left College Park, Bellarmine College Preparatory took over its former campus. Frank Delos Wolfe
Frank Delos Wolfe (1863–1926) was an architect for clients across northern California. He contributed significantly to the architecture in now-historic neighborhoods of San Jose, California. Frank Wolfe was born in Green Springs, Ohio. In 1888 he moved to San Jose, California. In 1892 he began work as an architect. Frank partnered with Charles McKenzie from 1899 to 1910. Together they designed hundreds of buildings. Wolfe and McKenzie worked on houses in Naglee Park beginning in 1902 and then Hanchett Park beginning in 1906. Frank's son Carl joined him as an associate in 1912. Under the Wolfe & Wolfe partnership Frank designed several California Prairie style homes. The Alameda is a historic district of Central San Jose, California, west of Downtown San Jose. The district is centered on an ''alameda'' (Spanish for tree-lined street), a historic portion of El Camino Real connecting Downtown San Jose to Mission Santa Clara de Asís, and includes the smaller, surrounding neighborhoods to the north and east, like College Park and St. Leo's. Caltrain
Caltrain (reporting mark JPBX) is a California commuter rail line serving the San Francisco Peninsula and Santa Clara Valley (Silicon Valley). The southern terminus is in San Jose at Tamien station with weekday rush hour service running as far as Gilroy. The northern terminus of the line is in San Francisco at 4th and King Streets. College Park (Caltrain Station)
College Park station is a limited-service, weekday-only Caltrain station serving the College Park neighborhood and the Bellarmine College Preparatory school in San Jose, California. Service The station is served by four trains per weekday. In the morning, one northbound train from Gilroy and one local service southbound train from San Francisco serve the station. In the afternoon, one southbound train to Gilroy and one limited-stop northbound train to San Francisco stop at College Park. There is no weekend service. Due to the small size of the station platforms, only the three northern-most cars of each train open their doors to allow passengers to board and alight.
