''College Football on NFL Network'' is the branding used for college football broadcasts of NCAA college football games that are broadcast by NFL Network. NFL Network first began airing college football in 2006, when it acquired the rights to three postseason games: the Texas Bowl, the Insight Bowl, and the Senior Bowl. The RCA Dome (originally Hoosier Dome) was a domed stadium in Indianapolis. It was the home of the Indianapolis Colts NFL franchise for 24 seasons (1984– 2007). It was completed at a cost of $77.5 million, as part of the Indiana Convention Center, with the costs split between private and public money. The largest crowd to attend an event at the Dome was 62,167 for WrestleMania VIII in 1992. It was demolished on December 20, 2008, as part of a project to expand the attached convention center. The Circle City Classic is an annual American football game featuring two historically black colleges/universities (HBCUs) and played in Indianapolis, Indiana. The event was established in 1984 and has been played every year except 2020, when it was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The game was held from 1984 to 2007 in the RCA Dome and was moved to the new Lucas Oil Stadium in 2008. 2006 Minnesota Golden Gophers Football Team
The 2006 Minnesota Golden Gophers football team represented the University of Minnesota in the 2006 NCAA Division I FBS football season. Coached by Glen Mason, the Gophers played their home games at the Metrodome in Minneapolis, Minnesota, as they had since Memorial Stadium closed after the 1981 season. Mason was fired on December 31, 2006, two days after the Gophers' epic collapse in the last 20 minutes of the Insight Bowl against Texas Tech, which saw Minnesota blow a 38–7 lead to lose 44–41 in overtime.
