Colleen Madigan (born January 22, 1964) is an American politician and social worker from Maine. Under the name Colleen Lachowicz, the Democrat from Waterville was elected to the Maine Senate from the 25th district. Her race attracted international attention when the Republican Party of Maine issued press releases condemning her for playing the online video game '' World of Warcraft'', claiming her "disturbing alter-ego" and "time-consuming double life" made her unfit to hold public office. She was defeated for re-election two years later by Republican Scott Cyrway. Henry E. Murphy Beck, (also called Henry E. M. Beck, born June 6, 1986) is an American people, American lawyer and Democratic Party (United States), Democratic politician from Waterville, Maine, Waterville, Maine. Outing
Outing is the act of disclosing an LGBT person's sexual orientation or gender identity without that person's consent. It is often done for political reasons, either to instrumentalize homophobia in order to discredit political opponents or to combat homophobia and heterosexism by revealing that a prominent or respected individual is homosexual. Examples of outing in history include the Krupp affair, Eulenburg affair, and Röhm scandal. The ethics of outing are highly contested as it can often have a negative effect on the target's personal life or career.
